Chapter 18; Hawaii

  Katniss Pov

  Today everyone is planning on going to the beach. I wake up in a room that Annie let Peeta and I have. I just lay there not knowing if anyone else is awake yet. It's 8:00am. I hear Peeta waking up so I turn over to face him. His eyes are closed but he yawns.

  " Good morning," he says calmly like everything is perfect.

  " Good morning, I reply pulling a few strands of my hair out of my face to see him better.

We lay there this way until we hear a knock on the door. Through the door we hear Annie say, " Breakfast is done. You can come down when your ready."

  " Okay, thanks" I say back and get up out of bed. I turn around to see Peeta watching me.

  " What?," I say smiling.

  " Nothing," he says with a smirk as he stands up and walks over to me and gives me a kiss. I hug him and he hugs back tightly.

  We go downstairs together. I smell all of the breakfast that fills the morning air. When we get to the kitchen, everyone is awake and just chatting.

  " Well good morning," Finnick says as everyone looks toward Peeta and I.

  " Good morning," I say smiling and I take a seat at the table they have in the kitchen.

  " Do you want a mimosa, you guys?" Annie asks holding two glasses.

  " Yes please!," I say and everyone laughs.

  We all eat breakfast and begin going over the plans for today.

  Peeta's POV.

  We are going to the beach so everyone has to start getting ready. I let Katniss go before me so she can get a head start. I chat with Finnick and Jacob.

  Soon, Katniss comes downstairs and tells me that the bathroom is ready for me. I stand up and give her a kiss. Her hair is out and wavy and I think she looks great like that.

I go upstairs and put a bathing suit on and come back downstairs to see everyone ready.

" Were you guys waiting for me," I ask everyone.

" Oh no, you are fine, we are not quite ready yet," Finnick tells me and I just nod and sit on the couch next to Katniss. She is holding Johanna's daughter, Emily and I just watch her. She is so good with babies.

" Okay, I think we are ready now," Annie announces as we all stand up grabbing our things. 

  Katniss and I get into the car and begin following Finnick and Annie's car because they know exactly where they are going.

When we get there I see this beautiful white sand beach and bright blue waves crashing down. We get out of the car and walk toward everyone else who is heading towards the sand.

" This beach is beautiful!," Katniss says as she helps set up some blankets and chairs.

" Yea, this beach is the best one around here," Annie tells her.

I wanted to get into the water so I tap Katniss to see if she wanted to go with me.

" Lets go in the water," I say and she nods and follows me.

Finnick is already in the water boogie boarding on the waves.

" The water feels great," I tell Katniss and she smiles as she gets deeper in.

" I know! Especially since the sun is so hot today," she replies and goes under the water.

When she comes back up I splash her and she starts laughing. This reminds me of the day I proposed to her at the beach. We get into a splash war and after that we decide to go back to the sand to get dry.

Katniss goes straight to her towel and then sees that Finn is having trouble making a sand castle. She walks over to him and says " Hey buddy, you need some help there?,"

  I smile when she is willing to give him help. She is such a caring person. I watch as she sits next to him and shows him step by step as he watches. She flips the bucket over and a perfect castle comes out.

  " There you go," she says smiling and handing him the bucket.

  " Thank you, Auntie Katniss!!!," he yells and Katniss ruffles his bronze colored hair a bit.

  " No problem," she says laughing and walks back to where I am sitting. I wrap my arm around her and give her a squeeze. I love her so much and Im so glad we are getting married.

  " So did you pick a date for your wedding yet," Johanna asks and we both shake our heads.

  " No not yet, but we know we have to soon," Katniss replies.

  " We were thinking about having it next spring though," I add.

  We continue chatting about our wedding plans for a while and then everyone goes on to doing there own thing. Laying out in the sun, building sand castles or just hanging out in the water.
