9.12.2084 Tuesday Morning
Another long school day began as the bell rang and I slowly hurried to my first class. I tripped a few feet from the door, ungracefully landing on the dirty floor. My books slid across the tiles as I released a little moan.
"Katherine! Are you okay?" yelled Mingan as he rushed to my side and helped me up.
"Yea, I think so," I muttered as I glanced at my palms, coated in blood.
"You’re bleeding," he commented as he stared at my hands before picking up my books quickly. "We should get you to the nurse’s office."
"No, I’m fine. Thank you anyway, Mingan…" I started as I rubbed my palms on my jeans, revealing tiny cut in the middle of each.
"It’s Ming," he corrected as he handed over my books.
"Ming…thanks," I mumbled before dashing into class.
