9.23.2084           Saturday    Evening

Pete sat at the end of the oak kitchen table with his friend, Tommy, beside him; while Mone and I talked at the other end. “Kitty, when are you going to tell him?” Mone asked and I gave her the ‘Shut up look.’

“Tonight,” I whispered quickly before I got up and went to the fridge. “You kids want something to drink?” I asked since I was in charge. Mom was sadly at work for the next two hours; then when she gets home, she probably pass out on our hard couch.

“Yea sure, sis,” Pete answered as he flashed a toothy smile at me.

“Got fruit punch?” hissed Tommy and I quickly turned my gaze to the fifteen year old boy. He was a bit shorter than Pete and his hair was chopped, dirty-brown; while his eyes were of a lightning green.

“Excuse me?” I coughed as I raised an eyebrow.

          “I said…” Tommy started quickly.

“I know what you said, Tommas Wood! It was how you said it. I’m sorry, but we don’t use that tone in this house,” I told as I set two cans of fruit punch on the table.

“Oh…” Tommy began to laugh before he sipped his drink without opening the can; instead, he just pushed his fangs through the top.

“Tommy!” Pete yelled as he scooted back, falling off his chair. I rushed to his side, putting my hands on his shoulders.

“Wait! Kitty, you didn’t tell him yet…did you?” Tommy asked as he stared at me.

“Tell me what?” Pete questioned scared as he pushed me off.

“Let’s go for a walk in the park,” I urged and Mone stood quickly. She grabbed out jackets and pushed the boys out the door.
