chapter 23- good news

I woke up at 4 am in the morning. I couldn't stop thinking about Andy. I know Sarah and my dad are ok but what the doctor said was...devastating. I never really realized how much I actually loved him. I mean yeah I knew I did but the fact that I might just lose him like I did my sister is an awful thought. I get my phone and notice that somehow my dad text me.

Dad- hey its dad I just wanted to tell you that I'm getting out of the hospital today and that I love you.
P.S- you need to pick me up.

Me- ok great I will see you soon then and I love you too.

I shut off my phone. I heard a knock at the door so I got up and opened it to see Alyssa in front of me.
Alyssa-did I wake you up?
Keegan- no
Alyssa- ok...well I was wondering if you can come downstairs with me to get a drink?
I smiled. She was so cute. She acted nothing like Adam.
Keegan- yeah I will. I need something to drink too.
She grabbed my hand as we went down the stairs and into the kitchen. I turned the light on and she let go of my hand. I opened up the fridge.
Keegan- what do you want?
Alyssa- umm...I want...apple juice.
Keegan- ok I'll have the same thing.
Alyssa- can we stay down here and drink it?
Keegan- yeah if you want to.
I got our juice and handed Alyssa her drink and we sat down in a chair.
Keegan- why did you want to stay down here?
Alyssa- I wanted to ask you questions.
Keegan- ok...ask me them.
Alyssa- how old are you?
Keegan- 15. How old are you?
Alyssa- I'm 8. Ok so how did you meet my brother?
Keegan- well I was at my locker at school with my best friend ember and we were hugging and then Adam appeared and yeah that's how I met him.
Alyssa- why was he at your locker?
Keegan- his locker is right beside of mine.
Alyssa- have you kissed him yet?
The word yet was stuck in my brain. So she knew he was a player.
Keegan- no but why did you say yet?
Alyssa- usually every girl Adam meets they have already kissed and trust me he has brought a lot of girls home when mom isn't here. Sometimes when he's in his room with the girl I hear the girl making weird noises and him making them too. Most of the time when he comes back out of his room with the girl his hair is messy and he only has his boxers on. The girl has her clothes on but her hair is messy too and-
Keegan- whoa ok. Have you ever talked to Adam about it?
Alyssa- yeah he says its called making things in a place called heaven.
Oh dear lord. Why would Adam tell her that!? She's so young and innocent. Geez.
Keegan- oh well....um ok.
Alyssa- what does he mean by that?
Keegan- uh well....it's something you shouldn't know.
Alyssa- everyone tells me that when i ask about something that comes out of adams mouth means. Anyway next question.
Even though she is only 8 she kinda acts more mature for some reason.
Alyssa- do you like him?
Keegan- no why?
Alyssa- I don't know but I think he likes you.
That made me burst out into laughter. It made Alyssa laugh too.
Keegan- him...liking....me? Oh God that will never happen.
Alyssa- whatever you say.
I turn my head and see Molly and a sleepy adam with....no shirt on.
Molly- what are you two laughing about?
Alyssa- we're just getting to know each other.
Molly- I see....you know it's like 5 am in the morning right?
Wow time goes by fast. Alyssa and I give her a cheeky smile and she laughed.
Molly- you want breakfast?
Adam- I do! I'm so fucking hungry...I mean-
Molly- watch your language Adam Daniel Green.
So that's his middle name.
Keegan- uh I'm gonna go take a shower.
Molly nodded and I went upstairs. I heard someone following me so I turned around to see Adam.
Adam- um...hey.
I didn't say anything back to him.
Adam- look I'm sorry about last night I don't know what got into me I just....I just...I don't know...
Keegan- its okay...but um my dad and Sarah get out of the hospital today and they need us to pick them up.
Adam- that's great. Get ready so we can go get them.
I nod and get my clothes and then get into the shower. After that I get dressed, eat breakfast, and then I brush my teeth. Molly left for work and dropped off Alyssa at her daycare and now I'm in adams car. It was a silent ride.
