Stir. Sizzle. Stir. Piper rushed to quickly finish making her lunch. The one day her preppy school finally decided to have off, and it's for a holiday that nobody celebrates. Halloween. Sure, it was cute when she was a kid. Costumes, running around all night to strangers' houses, unsupervised and at the potential risk of getting kidnapped, asking for candy. But now, she didn't care for Halloween. In fact, it was her least favorite holiday. Even though it wasn't the best holiday, it got her a day off of school, which she gladly accepted.Somehow, she had been lucky enough to get a dorm all to herself, and she took advantage of that. Teen Wolf marathons, in cozy pajamas, with her favorite vegetarian stir fry was never a bad thing.
Piper was rushing very very fast. As usual, her free days off were spent with Teen Wolf by her side, fuzzy socks, comfy clothes, and food. Especially food. She needed to finish her broccoli, cauliflower, and carrot stir fry pronto. She was dying to know what happened to her baby Stiles. How did he just fight off one of the Oni? Scrawny, pale, defenseless Stiles? He was the brains behind the operation, not the brawn. Either way, Piper couldn't wait to find out.
"Ahh, finally." She happily said to herself, satisfied because her lunch was ready. She took the lid off of the pot, steam erupting into the air, and put it in her tiny white sink. She slid across her wood floor using her fuzzy socks-the most fun and efficient way to get somewhere fast-to the stove. She grabbed the stir fry, inhaling the sweet scent of vegetables mixed with chicken flavored ramen noodles filling her nostrils, leaving her sighing. She made sure she had a hot pad and her bowl ready, solidified her grip on her lunch, and walked towards her counter, 3 feet away. Right as she was getting ready to pour this mouthwatering goodness into her cute, ceramic brown bowl, a knock came on her door, causing Piper to quietly yelp and spill her lunch. Everywhere. She grunted in frustration and went to the door, gliding across the hardwood floor to get there.
She opened the door and was greeted by two people. A girl, who looked like someone you did not want to mess with. She had straight light brown hair that framed her chiseled face, and her hairline covered up by a red and white patterned bandana. She had on a plain red tee covered by a frayed jean vest and dark blue shorts, barely reaching her knees. Her clothes did not hesitate to show off her astounding muscles. Piper had never seen someone put that much effort into muscles, much less a teen girl. The only thing Piper found appealing to her own personal taste was her shoes, which were black and white Nike Roshes, striped in every direction on the fabricated part. Piper had been wanting those for a long time, but couldn't afford it. She didn't want them enough to rely on her other source of money...
The guy next to the girl was pretty short compared to her, but he looked just a little younger. He was deathly pale, contrasting his jet black hair, styled to sweep to the side of his face. His eyes were... Dark. Just dark. Piper couldn't distinguish a color, but they held such sadness, such pain, so many emotions he would never let rise to the surface, not for anyone. His clothes matched his hair, black, black, and guess what? More black! He had on a P!ATD shirt, ripped black jeans rolled up around the ankles, and several bracelets lining up and down his arms. Almost all black, but a few neutral colors. Even his socks were black, which just barely peeked up from his low-topped black Converse.
Seeing them, dressed to fit their personalities, Piper looked down at herself. She was wearing some black leggings she had gotten from PINK and she wore a pale red tee she had gotten from... Wait. Where did she get this shirt? It made her feel safe and at home. Her hair was up in a high messy bun with little braids tucked here and there, and fuzzy socks. Her blue and white striped fuzzy socks, obviously matching her outfit and mood. She really hoped they didn't think of her as the lazy slob she was.
They didn't seem too concerned with her appearance, though. The boy looked up at her.
"Um," he nervously glanced at the girl. She nodded and he continued.
"This is going to sound weird, but we need you to come with us. It'll make sense later, I promise. We need you and the others back." Piper looked back between the two, the guy with an expression of pleading, the girl looking like she would force Piper into coming if it came down to that. Piper cleared her throat.
"Why do you need me? And who are the others?" The boy sighed.
"Piper, it's very important. I can explain later, but we need to get you back now. Can you trust me?" She gave him a quizzical look. How did he know her name?
"Trust the guy I just met 30 seconds ago? Of course!" She really hoped that sarcasm wasn't offensive to the girl.
"We've met before, I promise. You saved my life, Piper. That's why I'm here, to help save someone else who is very important to all three of us. Please, just come with us. I swear as soon as we get there, everything will make so much more sense." The boy begged. Piper considered this. She was a very open-minded person, but what could they need her for? She wasn't anything special, that was for sure. But hey, what else did she have to do on her day off?
Reluctantly, she replied. "Just let me change. When are we coming back?" The boy looked to the girl, who answered.
"We can't be certain. You don't need to pack anything, we've got you covered. You actually might not ever come back." Those last words... Were they a good thing? Piper did hate this school... She scurried to her room and quickly threw on some casual clothes and left, turning off her Teen Wolf and saying goodbye to her old life as she knew it.
