The next morning was rough

The next morning was rough. Everybody had had the night to let the previous events sink in, and that only made things worse. They all knew the Chosen One couldn't be Leo, it just couldn't. It was surely one of them, and whoever it was knew it. Hazel's mind raced all night as she was on duty, so much so that she exhausted every last brain cell she had. She started to doze off, then woke up to Piper standing on the other side of the railing. Odd, not something Piper would do. She seemed off, very distant. Like she was sad, but didn't want anyone to know why. Hazel assumed it was from the visit from the twins. She had heard about the things they said to her... And the fact that Leo was brought up. Piper did an amazing job convincing the twins, almost enough to convince Hazel. But, it obviously took its toll on the daughter of Aphrodite. Poor girl, she's been through so much.

The demigods sat around the table, eating their breakfast in silence. Frank would occasionally glance up from his cereal and look at each of their friends individually. He scanned their faces, looking for some kind of answer. Hazel already tried that and came up empty handed. The two made eye contact, but he quickly looked back at his Lucky Charms. The tension was so thick, you could cut it with a knife. Hazel couldn't stand it.

"Okay, can we just talk about this? Obviously the Chosen One knows who they are. There's no way it could be-be Leo. And obviously the Chosen One doesn't want us to know who they are. I personally think we should keep it that way." Hazel didn't want to say too much. She was the youngest of the Seven, and she didn't want to overstep her rights.

"I agree." Annabeth said. "The more people that know, the more risk there is for that person and all of us. No matter who it is, we all look out for each other. It's pretty clear the measures that are willing to be taken to find them." She touched the side of her face. There was a slight hint of purple and blue, the aftermath from when Pollux hit her. Hazel thought back to yesterday. If Annabeth hadn't have said something... Who knows what unimaginable things would've happened to Hazel. She was terrified when Pollux said her name. It made her realize how strong and rare her abilities were, and she needed to capitalize on them. Hazel gave Annabeth a warm smile and hoped to convey a message of gratitude to her.

Percy sat up in his seat. "Um, I hate to oppose, but I think it would be better if we knew. We could protect that person more, and help them to control their powers from being unleashed. Plus, I can't imagine bearing that burden alone could be easy." He looked around at his friends, concern plastered all across his faced. Percy was very protective of his friends, and would do anything to keep them safe. His heart was always in the right place.

"I understand your concern, Percy, but the risk is just too high. And it's not really our decision to find out who it is-" Annabeth was cut off by a loud thud on the upper deck. Jason was up there on duty, but the demigods still raced above deck. Piper had her dagger pulled out, Percy whipped out Riptide, Frank with his bow and arrows. Nothing was taking them down today.

As soon as Hazel could see the deck, she gasped. Jason stood there, hugging the life out of some poor soul. He saw the others and pulled back, revealing who that poor soul was. And it was no poor soul at all. It was Leo.
