Luke and Hailey ran up to me as I sat, locked in Jonathan's arms. "Skye!" Hailey yelled. I breathed in deeply.
"They took them. They took her." I stuttered. She grabbed me out of Jonathan's arms and hugged me. "I'll take her back to her tent where she can rest." Hailey told the boys.
"I don't need rest! I need those menacing people to return the brumbies!" I yelled. I ran to a tree and started climbing it. "I'm going to make breakfast. Want some?" Hailey asked the boys and I. She knew she couldn't do anything. I didn't respond but the boys nodded."Jonathan, why do you always need to go to Skye's rescue?" Luke asked Jonathan.
"She's my friend. I didn't see-" Jonathan got cut off by Luke.
"She's my cousin. Last time I checked, your friendship usually results in arguing. You always need to be with her in two seconds." Luke stated.
"It would be two minutes before you go to help her. I'm taking more care of her than you are and you're her family." Jonathan argued. I threw a twig down and it landed on Jonathan's head. "Please tell me you know I can hear you? Stop arguing." I told them. They both sighed. I stopped climbing the tree and could see the road. Each horse trailer passed that dirt road. Kiandra's was rocking side by side as she stomped on the floor of it. I sighed and a tear dripped down my face. Who knew what I was going to do now. If only I knew where the horses are going. At that moment, I remembered seeing something fall out of a man's pocket. What if that had the answer. I climbed down steadily. "Hey, where are you going?" Luke asked.
"I'm just going to check something." I answered.
"Isn't that her answer to everything?" Jonathan questioned Luke. Luke shrugged and nodded.I got down on my hands and knees and scurried through the dirt and stones. I eventually found what I was looking for. It was a business card for a brumby catching group. I kept it and walked back to camp but something shiny caught my eye. I looked at what seemed to be a belt buckle but then I noticed that it was actually stuck on the front of a book.
