Begin to a shock

Mum and I picked up Natalie who wasn't in a 'good morning sunshine' mood. She had dark eyes, messy hair and a low patients. "What happened to you?" I asked her.
"Thanks. You noticed too. If you must know, Jane was keeping me up for most of the night but then put rocks in my pillow case so I only got three hours of sleep." Natalie explained. I watched Jane standing at the front door with a smirk on her face. I looked back at Natalie's hair and couldn't find a reason for her not brushing it. "Did she hide your hair brush too?" I question, half joking.
"No. Sophia thought it would be funny to put in PVA glue and then put it in yellow paint which would explain the strip of yellow in my hair." She answered.
"Oh, I thought you coloured your hair for Luke." I joked. She shot a look at me to say that wasn't funny. She likes Luke which is weird because he's my cousin but I saw no point in ever telling her that. Hailey also likes him. She fell asleep on the way to Kosciusko national park. I didn't wake her up as soon as we got there because she really needed sleep. When I got out of the car, I saw Hailey and Luke. I also so Luke's friend and I definitely knew him. His name was Jonathan. I met him almost two years ago. Hailey was there when I met him and he found her loopy and weird so he preferred to stay away from her. Although when we first met, we became really good friends. That only lasted four months though. Then we began to hate each other. We tried to be friends again but it was hard. To most people, the word 'friends' mean boyfriend and girlfriend if it's between a boy and a girl so we pretended to hate each other and then started to hate each other. I guess that's how we stopped being friends. I couldn't believe he was coming with us though. Hailey came up to me with a smirk on her face. "It's not funny." I said before she could say anything.
"Yes it is. It's your boyfriend. Now I bet you're happy." She teased.
"Shut up Hailey! You know I don't like him." I moaned. She had a smirk on her face and tried not to laugh. "Ok, I'll do you a deal. You can tease me all you like but as long as you don't tell Natalie. This rule only applies on the walk. Deal?"
Hailey stood with a thinking look on her face. "Deal." She sighed. "But what happens if I break this deal?" She asked.
"I'll do something so embarrassing to you and I know what it will be but I won't tell you because it makes it more fun if you don't know." I teased. She sighed and walked back to say goodbye to her mum. I would've told Luke she likes him. I couldn't have her say a thing to Natalie. "Skye, wake Natalie up. You need to start walking. I'll meet you at the end of the track." Mum called. I walked to the car to see Natalie wake up as soon as I opened the door. "I'm coming." She moaned. I walked to Hailey, Luke and Jonathan with Natalie trailing behind me. Jonathan and I tried our best not to make eye contact. "Ok we'll stop for lunch almost half way through. This shouldn't take long. Come on." I told them. I waved to mum and then we set off.
