Nightmare

You're about to fall asleep...

You open your eyes as Demi suddenly pulls you into her arms, holding you close. At first, you think she's awake, but judging by her breathing, she's not. Your back is flush against her front, and you feel her nuzzle your neck softly.
"Mmm," she murmurs, her arms around you tightening a bit. You love being this close to her. It makes you feel loved and safe. Suddenly, she makes a choked noise, and she sounds like she's crying. You grab her wrist, trying to comfort her, but she makes a scared sound.
"Demi," you whisper, trying to turn around in her arms. She doesn't wake up but starts rocking back and forth, small whimpers leaving her lips. "Demi," you say, louder this time. Her grip on you loosens, and you turn around so you're facing her. You put your hands on her face and notice her cheeks are wet. "Demi." Her eyes shoot open, and for a moment, she looks panicked and scared. Once she realizes you're in front of her, she lets out a cry of relief before kissing you. You're startled but kiss her back.
She pulls away after a moment and says, "They were trying to take you away from me."
"What? Who?"
"In my dream. My nightmare," she whispers. "They were trying to take my baby away from me," she says, her voice breaking as she looks into your eyes.
"Oh Demi," you say softy, kissing her again. She pulls you closer as you part your lips for her. You wrap your leg around her, and she brushes your hair behind your ear.
She pulls away before saying, "I was so scared."
"It's okay. You're okay," you reply. "I'm here." She smiles and snuggles into you, and you wrap your arms around her. You fall asleep peacefully, safe in each other's arms.
