Today is your last day here, and you want to make it count...
Yesterday was so fun. Dinner was amazing, and the two of you talked about everything and anything. It was truly amazing. You'd taken a walk together after dinner and went to the park to look at the stars. She'd even kissed your cheek at the end of the night.
You promised to meet again today for coffee. After all, it's your last day here.
"Demi!" you call when you see her familiar black hair.
"Hey!" she says, coming over to you. Today, she's wearing yoga pants and a black parka. She looks so sexy. Her hair is tied up in a ponytail, making her look casually chic. You love it.
"How are you? You look amazing," you tell her.
"I'm great. Happy to see you," she admits, making your cheeks flush. "You look pretty amazing yourself."
"Thanks," you say, and before you can even understand what's happening, she takes your hand in hers. It feels so natural. It's like your hand was made to fit into hers. You can't help the smile that spreads across your face.
"Shall we? I'm craving an iced tea," she says, swinging your arm lightly.
"Me, too," you reply with a smile. Your heart is beating a mile a minute. Her hand is so warm in yours. There's something about holding her hand that makes you just feel so...happy. You've held hands with other people before, but with her, it's just different.
You walk to the neighborhood café and get your iced teas. You take your drinks and walk hand in hand down the street.
"I'm really going to miss you," Demi says wistfully as you walk.
"I'm going to miss you, too," you admit, and she looks to you.
Her brown eyes meet yours, and your heart skips a beat.
"Have I ever told you how beautiful you are?" she asks softly, making your cheeks flush.
"No," you say, unable to stop smiling.
"You're so gorgeous. I love looking at you," she says, and you look down, feeling giddy.
"You're really beautiful, too. I've never seen anyone more gorgeous."
"I feel like we're a syrupy mess right now," she laughs, but her cheeks are pink, too.
"True," you admit, and she smiles.
"I really like being with you," she says. "I wish you could stay."
"Me, too."
"Can we...can we stay in touch?" she asks, taking you by surprise.
Sure, that would be amazing, but you'd never thought she'd actually want to stay in touch. You'd just imagined you would spend two days together—at best—and part ways.
"You want to?" you ask blankly.
"Of course I do! You seriously haven't noticed how crazy I am about you?"
"You're crazy about me?" you repeat, unable to process what's happening.
"Oh god. Yes, yes I am," she laughs. "I'm so glad you came to me yesterday. I was being all mopey and sad because you were going to get away from me."
"I can't believe this," you say, and you stop walking. She meets your eyes.
"I really like you."
You smile. "I really like you, too."A/N
