You're at home in your living room...

"Did you take it?" Demi demands the moment she comes into the room.
"What?" You put down your book and stand up. She looks pissed.
"My phone!"
"No, I haven't touched your phone," you reply, and she narrows her eyes at you.
"Then who did?"
"I don't know. Maybe you just misplaced it," you tell her.
"I would not misplace it! I have an important call in ten minutes!" she screeches, making you pull back slightly. She's panicked and mad as fuck.
"I haven't touched your fucking phone," you tell her, starting to get mad as well. Why won't she believe you?
"I know it was you," she snaps, letting out an agitated noise.
"Demi, please, just listen to me," you say, reaching for her. She snaps her hand back, not letting you touch her.
"I could lose this fucking contract if I don't talk to him on the phone in ten minutes. This is my career on the line," she says, her voice going high.
"Okay. Okay. Let's retrace your steps and see where it could be."
"You know where it is! You took it!" she accuses you, clenching her fists.
"I didn't take your fucking phone," you snap, crossing your arms and glaring at her.
"Is this because I'm not home as much?" She's seething at this point.
"What?"
"You want me to lose my job so I'll be with you more?"
"Do you really think I would do that?" you ask, feeling incredibly hurt. How could she even think that?
"Yes. Yes I do. But if you don't give me my fucking phone right now, we're through."
Your heart practically stops. "Is that how little you think of me? You don't even care, do you?" You throw up your hands. You're about to let her have it when suddenly, Marissa comes into the room.
"What the fuck is happening here?" she asks. That's when you see the phone in her hand.
"You have her phone!" you practically yell, and Marissa jumps in surprise.
"Yeah! Sorry, I had an emergency at home," she says, handing Demi her phone back. "I know I—"
"Doesn't matter!" Demi says before practically running out of the room. "I'm sorry, babe!" she yells as she storms up the stairs for her call.
"What was that?" Marissa asks.
"She was threatening to break up with me because she thought I took her phone," you reply, and Marissa's eyes widen.
"Oh god, this is my fault. I'm so sorry."
"It's fine."
