You're her best friend...
"He broke up with me!" you cry, throwing yourself on your best friend's bed.
"You want me to kick him in the balls?" she asks, and you shake your head.
"It's fine. I'm done with guys. They're stupid," you respond, burying your face in the pillows. They smell like Demi. It comforts you.
"They are," she agrees, putting her hand on your shoulder to comfort you. "You have me."
"I know. And I'm so grateful," you say, looking up at her. Her eyes meet yours, and you smile. She look so beautiful.
"Come here," she says, and you sit up. You go over to her and throw your arms around her. She envelops you in her arms, and you bury your face in her shoulder. Her hair tickles your face slightly, and you breathe in her scent.
She comforts you so much. You close your eyes and breathe slowly, trying to calm your emotions.
"You're okay," she murmurs, rubbing your back gently. "I'm here for you. I'm never leaving you." She lets out a breath. "God, I love you so much," she says, and you pull away to look at her face.
"I love you, too," you reply, smiling slightly.
Her eyes are warm, but you notice a hint of sadness.
"Are you okay?" you ask her, and she looks down.
"I'm fine," she replies, looking to you again and smiling slightly. But her eyes look watery now.
"You're not okay. Tell me what's wrong," you tell her, touching her arm gently.
She lets out a breath before looking into your eyes.
"I don't want to say this now, but I've just felt like...I don't know—" She keeps blabbering, and you clear your throat. She pauses.
"It's okay. Tell me," you say, and she smiles slightly.
"I love you," she says, and you blink. "As more than a friend," she adds, and your breath hitches.
You can't form words.
"It's okay if you don't feel the same way—" You cut her off with your lips. She freezes in shock before kissing you back, and you smile against her. Her hands move to your face, and it feels as though sparks fly.
You thought it would feel strange to kiss your best friend, but oddly enough, it only feels good.
When you pull away, she looks down.
"I don't know how I feel now," you whisper. "I mean, my feelings are a mess."
She laughs lightly and meets your eyes.
"But I do know that I loved that."
"Do you want to do it again?" she asks, her eyes shining.
"Absolutely," you reply before pressing your lips to hers once more.A/N
