I got up and went back to my apartment, turning on my computer. I went to my YouTube channel and looked through until I found what I was looking for. The video that guy visited most often was The Dramatic Song. I copied his username and went back to my page. I wrote an announcement, using his username in it.
I went to Twitter and did the same. I told all of my followers the situation and told them to comment what they thought about it. Before long I had comments rolling in. Every single one said that they agreed with me and that the other guy was a jerk. I went to his page and watched the number of his subscribers drop. I leaned back and smiled, my work here done. Jacie came in and looked at the computer screen.
"What did you do?" she asked incredulously.
I explained everything and let her do the same. We high-fived each other and went back to her apartment, but not before she spotted a comment. She laughed after she read it.
"This fan called us Tobulic," she said, smiling.
I nodded and got my shoes back on. "We're going out for celebratory food and coffee," I said, putting on a different shirt.
My other one had coffee stains on it, so I needed a fresh one. It was a green Tobuscus shirt. I pulled on a jacket over the top and waited for her to get ready. She made sure Anigo would be fine and walked out with me. We decided to walk because it was more fun and it took longer.
I grabbed her hand and we swung our arms back and forth. We held hands all the way to the fast food place. We ordered some burgers and fries to go, and we walked to Starbucks. I was about to walk in when I heard a squeal behind me. I turned to see a teenage girl with red hair and freckles all over.
"Oh my gosh, it's Tobulic!" she said, squealing again.
She ran up and squeezed me in a hug. "Can you sign my shirt? And when you do, have Toby sign his part of the name and Jacie can hers," she said, turning around and moving her hair out of the way.
I shrugged and signed the first half of the name, passing the marker to Jacie. The girl turned back around and hugged Jacie.
"Wait, how do you already know about us going out? We just posted that today," I said, raising an eyebrow.
The girl rolled her eyes. "It's all over the web! Every single fan is freaking out over Tobulic," she said.
I nodded and walked into Starbucks with Jacie. She couldn't stop smiling.
"Tobulic, huh? These fans come up with stuff fast," she said.
I ordered my usual and waited. The employee smiled at me.
"Will that be for Toby or Tobulic?" she asked.
I looked at her, surprised. "Toby," I said, letting Jacie order next.
"Have a nice day, you two," she said as we walked away with our coffee.
"Does everyone know about us?" I asked as we walked down the street.
She just shrugged and sipped her coffee. "I don't know, but it's kinda weird having everyone call us that. Are you gonna be able to deal with most of your fans asking about Tobulic from now on?" she asked.
I nodded and held her hand. We continued to walk down the streets, holding hands and drinking our coffee. It was nice, really. It started to drizzle, and soon it was pouring. We put up our hoods and ran. We were in the parking lot when I slipped and fell, dragging her down with me. She landed on top of me, crushing my ribcage. I looked up at her and smiled. She smiled back.
"If you wanted a kiss you could've just done it like a normal person," she said, pecking me on the lips.
I laughed and got up, helping her to her feet. We ran inside and walked into my apartment, soaking wet. The food was okay, thank god. We dug into our burgers, racing to see who could finish first. I won and pumped my fists in the air. She just giggled and started eating fries.
"Hey, try to make some into my mouth," I said, opening my mouth as wide as it would go.
She aimed and threw a fry at my mouth. I leaned over, trying to catch the fry, but I ended up falling to the floor. I held up the fry over the table.
"Got it," I said, getting up.
She laughed and tried again, making it this time. She kept firing the fry missiles into my mouth, eating some while I chewed. She picked up the last fry and closed one eye, aiming for my mouth. She acted like she was going to throw it and popped it into her mouth.
"Hey," I complained, closing my mouth.
She smiled and got up. "Hey, I'm going to go check on Anigo," she said, walking out.
I nodded and walked out, going to my PO box. There was only one package, but a shit load of letters. I sighed and hauled them back to my apartment, dumping them on te floor. I took out a video camera and started it.
"Hello once again, audience. I'm here opening up mail and what-not. Okay, Sally from Los Angeles, California wrote me a letter. Here's what it says. 'Dear Toby, I didn't know you had a girlfriend! Anyways, you're my idol and I love your videos. Tell me, what's it like having a girlfriend who's also a gamer?'"
I stopped and cleared my throat. "Well, it's nice, considering we both like video games. We like to play Slender together mostly, but we occasionally play Minecraft. Anyways, the rest of the letter says how she looks up to me and that she's my number one fan. I'm touched, really, I am. You guys, the fans, are the best part of being a YouTube Partner. Let's open some more letters," I said, picking up another one.
They all started the same way, some saying Toby, others saying Tobuscus, and a ton of them saying Tobulic. They all involved me and Jacie dating in some way. I finally got to the package. I opened it and pulled out a green shirt with black tiger stripes and the stone block lettering I use, and it said Tobulic.
"Hey, would you look at that? A Tobulic shirt. Seriously, cool, aw, and there's two, for me and Jacie. Thoughtful, guys, really. Now, I've gotta go. Bless yo face, and if you sneezed while watching this video bless you, peace off," I said, turning the camera off.
I sighed and stared at it all. People were overdoing this, just a little bit, don't you think? I mean, c'mon, shirts? I tossed the shirts onto the couch and cleaned up the letters. Jacie came back and eyed the t-shirts.
"Fan-mail?" she guessed, picking up the smaller t-shirt.
I nodded and sat down. I ran my hand through my hair and looked at her.
"I hope this dies down a little, and soon. All of my letters asked about Tobulic and how we were doing and stuff. I miss having questions about Toby," I said, sighing.
She nodded. "Stuff spreads fast," she said.
I got up and slipped on my shoes. "Let's go on a walk. It helps me think," I said, walking out.
We walked down the street, but when we passed Starbucks all hell broke loose. A bunch of fans rushed out, holding signs and shirts, squealing and shouting. Shit.
"Run!" I said, taking off.
