He tripped and fell, thumping his head on the wall. He was knocked unconscious. Way to go, Toby. I sighed and wrapped my arms under his, dragging him to the couch. A huge bruise was forming in the shape of a lump. I eventually got him onto the couch. I walked over to the freezer and got an ice pack. I placed it on his forehead, sitting down to wait. I waited for hours. I tried to stay awake, but I ended up falling asleep. I woke up when he moaned. He sat up and put a hand to his head, wincing.

"Toby!" I squealed.

I wrapped my arms around him, but he pushed me back. I gave him a curious look.

"Is something wrong?" I asked.

"Who are you? And where am I?" he asked.

My heart almost stopped. What? This couldn't be happening.

"Toby, it's me, Jacie. Your girlfriend. We were doing YouTube challenges, and you slipped and fell. Don't you remember?" I asked.

He shook his head.

"All I remember is going out to check my mail, and everything after that is kind of fuzzy," he said.

"What day was it?" I asked him, a feeling of dread landing on my shoulders.

"I think Saturday. How long was I out?" he asked.

I choked down tears. The last he remembered was before we first met. I took his hand and helped him up. I walked him over to his apartment and opened the door. I walked in and looked for something, anything to make him remember. I picked up my headset and desperately thrust it into his arms.

"This is my headset for when we play games together. And these are the shirts a fan sent us," I said, tossing him the shirts.

I picked up a stack of flyers. They were from when we lost Gryphon.

"These were flyers we made to find Gryphon when he ran away. Remember when you helped me get unstuck from that tree? Please, you have to remember," I said.

He just shook his head. I scrambled and found lyrics on his desk. I thrust them in his face.

"You wrote me this song! You came over with a guitar and sang it for me," I said.

I led him back to my apartment and showed him my guitar with the pictures.

"You gave this to me! These pictures were ones we took together, for good memories," I insisted.

He just shook his head and ran his hand through his hair.

"Toby, please, you have to remember me. You have to. I love you, just please remember me," I begged.

He just shook his head again.

"Sorry, nothing's ringing a bell. I just don't," he said.

I sat down on my couch and sobbed, feeling hollow inside. He awkwardly patted my shoulder and left me to cry my eyes out. I felt so alone.
