I felt sorry for the girl. I think she said her name was Jacie. I honestly tried to remember, but nothing happened. She desperately showed me items, telling me stories, but nothing clicked. She had begun to cry, and I wasn't sure what to do since I didn't know her, so I awkwardly left. I walked back to my own apartment and clicked the door shut. I wasn't sure how long I was out, so I better check my YouTube channel. I sat in my rolly chair and scooted up to the desk. I clicked on my channel and scrolled through. I looked at comments on my videos, and I began to notice videos I didn't recognize. I clicked on one and saw me and that Jacie girl show up.
We were playing Minecraft. We were beating zombies and she was setting stuff on fire. I chuckled softly. She was pretty good, not to mention funny. I scrolled through and watched video after video. There were ones of us playing Slenderman, opening mail, and playing Happy Wheels. I scanned through and watched each one, looking at the comments. I noticed on a video I announced we were dating. I watched them all and clicked on a link to her web page.
Jacilic.
I watched more of her videos, laughing and feeling strange when I saw her in ones with a guy. His name was supposedly Austin. I watched the last one, one where we did challenges. She won pretty much every time. I suddenly had a headache, and my heartbeat sped up. I gasped and collapsed on the floor, landing on my hands and knees. I squeezed my eyes shut. What was happening? Memories suddenly flowed through my mind, bursting like a dam. I remembered the song, the kiss, the first time she said 'I love you'. I remembered the look of pain on her face, the way she smiled, when we went swimming in a lake.
I remembered Jacie.
Jacie, wonderful Jacie. I repeated her name over and over again. Jacelynne. Jacie Tabithia. I remembered loving her, being with her, everything. I got up and swayed, gripping the wall for support. When I regained my balance I rushed to the door. I needed to tell her I was alright. I ran to her apartment as quick as I could. I opened the door.
"Jacie, I remember," I called.
I looked around her apartment. I checked her room, the kitchen, the bathroom. She was gone. I pulled out my cellphone and called. All I got was voicemail. I hung up and called again. Voicemail. On the fifth try I left a message.
"Jacie, it's me, Toby. I just wanted to say I remember everything, and that I love you, please, where are you?" I said.
I slid my phone into my pocket and walked back out. I satin my apartment, staring at my phone. Waiting for her to call back. I felt like a teenage girl with a boyfriend. I chuckled. I waited for a couple of hours, and my phone rang. I snatched it up and answered it.
"Jacie?" I asked.
"Sorry kid, it's someone else," a gruff voice said.
"Drake?" I asked in surprise.
"Yeah, it's me. Listen, have you seen my sis lately? She hasn't been answering her phone," he asked.
"No, sorry. She hasn't been answering me either. But I've got an idea. Meet me here and we can go," I offered.
"Sure. I hope you're right," he said.
I hung up and ran my hand through my hair. I hope I was too. I paced around my living room until he showed up,on his motorcycle. I rushed out and hopped in the car. He got in the passenger side and eyed me.
"Where're we goin'?" he asked me.
I pulled out of the parking lot and told him. He nodded and we sat in silence. I stared at the road with determination. She had to be there. Like she would tell me playing games, expect the unexpected. We drove for miles and miles until we came to our destination.
I quickly jumped out and slammed the car door, rushing through the security check. I walked into the visitation area and found her. She had come to see her sister in jail. I walked up behind her and lightly set my hands on her shoulders. She jumped and turned, her eyes widening when she saw me.
"Toby?" she asked quietly.
I smiled and sat down next to her. She flung her arms around me and buried her face in my chest. I lifted her chin and kissed her lightly on the lips.
"You really do remember," she said happily.
I nodded and looked over at her sister. She was grinning. Drake walked over and squeezed Jacie. She gasped and patted him. He set her down and let go. She gasped for air and smiled. She sat on my lap, letting me wrap my arms around her. I kissed the top of her head.
"How did you remember? And how did you know where I was?" she asked.
"I watched some videos, and the memories came back. About finding you , it was just a gut feeling," I explained.
She nodded and kissed me again. Her sister rapped her nailsont he table.
"You better be worth all the tears, boy," she said.
I nodded a little uneasily, but Jacie just laughed.
"Don't worry, he is," she assured him.
I smiled and kissed her again. I broke away and looked up. Her sister was drumming her nails on the table, smiling at us.
"You better be worth the trouble, my sister here needs a man that'll treat her right. I ain't afraid to come back here," Lila rasped.
"Oh yeah, she's getting out for good behavior," Jacie said excitedly.
Drake hugged his sister and grinned, revealing stained teeth from smoking. I stood up and tugged on Jacie's hand.
"C'mon, lets head home," I said.
She nodded and walked out with me, climbing into my car.
"What about yours?" I asked as I slid into the driver's seat.
She just shrugged and waited for me to drive. I pulled out of the parking lot and drove as fast as the speed limit would let me, wanting to get home. I went full speed and skidded to a stop in the apartment parking lot. I got out and rushed up to my apartment, Jacie following me. I let her in and shut the door behind her.
