Lily's POV:

After just laughing and talking with James quietly, I hurried back to my room.

Marlene and Alice had also arrived, holding dresses concealed by bags also. I had an idea of what to wear also, not super fancy, but enough to look dressed up.

I had no idea why Sirius wanted us to dress up, but probably so he had an excuse to see Marlene in a dress. It took probably took a couple hours (because we're girls) for us to each shower, put on lotion to smell good and not have our legs look like snake skin, put on our dress, do our hair, and put on makeup.

Alice took 20 minutes to educate us on the looks and what to go with it. I had a simple dress, so I could really pick anything. There were different scent types, either floral, natural, warm, and more. I chose to go with the warm scent.

I went first to shower, because I took the least amount of time. Usually I washed with a non-fragrant shampoo, maybe just smelling a bit like vanilla, but that was it. Instead, this time I used Teresa's honey-comb shampoo, which made my hair smell like golden honey and sweet milk.

Luckily for me, Alice, Marlene, and Teresa wore more makeup than me, so they took the time I used to shower to wipe off all their makeup.

Marlene had foundation and concealer, with light lip gloss and mascara, along with a light eye shadow. Alice had to rub off all her eyeliner, which was tons, and mascara, along with her Peachy Apricot Pink lipstick. Teresa took like 10 makeup wipes. She said, "You can't wipe different things off with the same wipe. It's unsanitary and bad for your skin."

At which Alice retorted, "Wearing that much makeup is also bad for your skin, Teresa." We laughed.

Teresa had to wipe off her perfect winged eyeliner, her mascara, her light pink blush, concealer, bright red lipstick, foundation, eye shadow, pressed powder, bronzer, and so much more I couldn't even name. When she took off all her makeup, she had even paler skin. She had pale skin, long and dark lashes, and red lips.

We made Alice go next for the shower while I dressed behind a giant screen in a simple white top and white shorts. I lathered myself in almond lotion while Marlene banged on the door and yelled at Alice to hurry up and Teresa finished taking off her makeup.

Marlene slammed her fist against the door and shouted, "Alice Prewett, you hurry up or I'll go change the water to rain pee on you!" Alice screamed, "Shut up, McKinnon!" and we all laughed. 5 minutes later, the shower door banged shut and Alice's came out with a hastily wrapped blue towel around her. We all giggled. She growled and ran behind the screen to change, her spiky hair leaving a trail of water on the floor.

Marlene rushed in as soon as Alice came out, shouting, "HALLELUJAH, SHE CAME OUT!" Teresa scoffed, "If you had me showering before you, you'd finish making out with Sirius before I came out." I could see Marlene turning red. She shouted back, "Beat it, Blake!" (Blake is Teresa's last name btw)

The door banged shut and I heard Marlene singing softly. I giggled and turned my ear to hear her sing, signaling to Teresa and Alice.

I'd heard Marlene sing before and she had quite a nice voice, but apparently she didn't try very hard in the shower. She warbled,

"So, believe that magic works

Don't be afraid

Of being hurt,

Don't let this magic
