James' POV:

I crept into the room, looking curiously at Sirius poring over something with a quill on my bed.

"What are you doing, mate?" I spoke up. He jumped and turned around.

"Prongs! Good to see you, mate. By the way, I picked out all the good jellybeans for you. And then I ate them. All the bogey-flavored ones are all yours! And your one true love, Ms. Evans, just discovered your 'cute' little gift to her."

I raised an eyebrow.

He held up a leather-bound maroon book. I recognized it and my mouth fell open. "Where did you find that?" I demanded, snatching it from him. "Under your bed," he shrugged, "Oh and you might want to find a better place for your stuff. I found some month-old crackers, a couple failed notes to Lily, a pair of Quidditch boxers, and some more interesting stuff."

"Oh and why are you spending all your time with Lily now?" Sirius complained, "Or trying to spend some time with Lily?"

"I don't spend all  my time with Lily."

"What in the world does she have that I don't?"

"Boobs," I said, before howling in laughter.

He glared at me.

I shoved him out of my Head room, him grumbling on the way down and out of the Heads' room. I read through what they had read, smiling at Lily's responses and chuckling at Sirius' pranks. I hesitated, taking out a quill and paused, before scribbling:

Dear Lily,

I really am sorry about that. Sirius is a bit of a knucklehead sometimes and honestly acts like an untamed chicken let loose but then again, he is a Marauder so..

Anyway, that's quite alright. Just wondering, would you be willing to go to the next Quidditch match?

Please let me know soon.

                                                                                                                                                                               With hope,

James

About 10 minutes later, Lily responded. She had lovely handwriting, long and elegant, with flowing letters slanted to the right slightly. It said:

Oh, of course! By the way, do you happen to know the upcoming chapters in Transfiguration this week?

Oh-er..not really? In case you didn't realize, I don't really pay attention in Transfiguration..or any class for that matter.

James! Then how come you're the top student in McGonagall's class?!

I am?

Yes!

Oh. I must be exceptionally talented then.

Or maybe it's just because you're an ignorant twit who just cheats on tests off of Remus.

Am not!

Possibly.

Oh shut up.

Alright, I've got to head down for dinner anyway.

I'll meet you outside your dorm room.
