Hi guys! This is my very first one-shot book EVER so I'll need some criticism on it plz. Oh and also in this story, there's gonna be a few chapters here and there with fluff that are with TTF, and will be a part of the plot in the book but the chapter will be here. Ok so yeah. GERONIMOOOO!!!!
Doctor's POV:
Rose had been acting strange lately. Sideways glances, hugging longer, avoiding me, it was starting to scare me a little. And then one day, I decided I'd take her to a very special planet.
"Rose!" I called for her. A moment later she burst through to the console room.
"Yeah?" She asked me, brushing aside her hair and still walking towards me.
"How'd you like to go somewhere?" I raised an eyebrow with my question, trying to make it seem like I wasn't up to something.
"I'd love to!" She said, grinning and clapping her hands. I grabbed one of her hands and ran around the console setting the coordinates.
"Allons-y Rose Tyler!" I hollered as the TARDIS took flight. The TARDIS landed roughly, throwing us both to the floor. I landed on my back, and somehow Rose landed on top of me.
"Hello." I said to her, grinning. She looked down at me, particularly my lips.
"Hello." She replied, sounding as if she were in some sort of trance. Then, I smelled something that wasn't right. It was coming from. . . Rose. The smell of freshly dried tears was overpowering, and also the smell of guilt. Rose moved off of me, and helped me to my feet.
"Doctor, what's wrong?" Rose asked, grabbing my hand and beginning to rub it.
"Nothing's wrong, nothing at all! Everything is perfect! Now, shall we go see what's outside those doors there?" I asked her, giving her the brightest smile I could muster. She raced to the doors, dragging me behind her. She looked at me to see if she could open the doors, and I gave her an affirmative smile. She opened them both with one hand, still holding mine. I heard her gasp, taking in the beauty that was around her. There was a mountain top with red grass, just like my lost home of Gallifrey. The sky, it had stars laid lit in an in-describable way, each star elegantly rolling it's light. The Stars were surrounding a pink nebula that was spread out the entire horizon, and well into the sky above. It was nighttime, the perfect time for what I wanted to do. Rose had stopped breathing.
"Rose." I shook her back, and she looked at me; still not breathing.
"Yeah?" She quietly whispered, not yet breathing.
"You need to breathe, darling. Please breathe." Once I pointed out to her that she wasn't breathing, I heard her take a sharp intake of breath.
"Let's go lay down on that hill so we can see that nebula better, eh?" I asked her, snapping my fingers to make the TARDIS doors close.
"Come along, then!" She happily exclaimed, taking off and nearly ripping off my arm. When we got there, her breath was heavy. I took my hand out from hers and then took of my jacket, laying it down among the red grass under the nebula light. I grabbed her hand again, laying down on my jacket. Rose cuddled up next to me, still having a tight grip on my hand. Her head was on my chest, her ear directly above my left heart. I felt my heartbeats pick up, and they just kept getting faster and faster. I was struggling to breathe, and Rose must have noticed because she lifted herself off of me.
"Doctor, are you alright?" She said, letting go of my hand to rub my chest. "I can feel your hearts. They're going so fast." She said.
"I'm not sure, Rose. I don't know what's going on." Suddenly, I understood what was happening. The air was Truth Air, and my body was trying to fight off the effects. I bolted up, taking Rose with me.
"Doctor! You're scaring me! Are you alright?!" She panicked, grabbing both my shoulders and shaking me a bit.
"I'm okay, the air is Truth Air." I said, unable to tell her anything but the truth. Her eyebrows furrowed.
"And that's a bad thing? What about a moment ago when you were in pain?" Her expression softened at her last sentence, driving me completely mad with love.
"Yes, it's bad Rose. I could say anything now. And when I was in pain, that was my body trying to fight off the Truth Air. We should really go." I said, picking up my coat and trying to make her come with me. She wouldn't move.
"Doctor. Put your coat down." She insisted.
"Why?" I asked her, knowing that this was the only chance I'd ever get to know exactly what she was thinking.
"Because I want to cuddle you." She said, clapping her hands over her mouth.
"I didn't mean to say that." She said, slowly moving her hands away from her mouth.
"It's okay, I don't mind." My eyes widened."I didn't mean to say that either." She laughed.
"Just put your coat down again, and we can lay together and cuddle." She didn't put her hands over her mouth, so I assumed that she meant to say that. I did as instructed and laid down, and Rose laid down in the same position as before.
"Rose, why have you been acting so strange lately?" I asked her, one wanting the truth. Now was m chance to get it, and I wasn't going to let it go.
"What do you mean by "strange" Doctor?"
"You've been giving me sideways glances, and hugging me for longer, but I can't help but feel that you've also been avoiding me. Why, Rose? Why have you been avoiding me?"
"I was worried that after your regeneration, you wouldn't want me around any more. I still am. So I decided that I would keep away from you so that I wouldn't say something to make you hate me." She rattled, not being able to hold her tongue.
"I couldn't ever hate you, Rose. Never." Since I could only tell the truth, I had hoped she's believe me. She didn't.
"Why couldn't you ever hate me, Doctor? You treat me so well and I don't even deserve it."
"Because, Rose. I love you. That's why I couldn't hate you. You mean too much to me." Realizing what I had just blurted out, I stopped breathing. Time felt like it had stopped, and I was waiting for her to run into the TARDIS and beg for me to take her home. But, that never happened.
"I love you too, you silly Time Lord." I let out my breath, and turned to kiss her. She didn't push me away, but she wrapped her hand around my neck to pull me closer. I pulled away to let her breathe, and stroked her check with my right hand. She was halfway below me, and I was holding myself up with my left arm. Her hand was still on the back of my neck, gently rubbing up and down.
"That was lovely." She said, licking her lips.
"Yes it was." I replied before ducking down to kiss her again. Except, this time, that little kiss evolved into a proper snog. I felt her trying to breathe, so I pulled away.
"Let's take this go the TARDIS, shall we?" I asked her. Still catching her breath, she nodded. I picked her up with my coat around her and carried her into the TARDIS.
-----------LATER------------
(Still the Doctors POV)Rose and I laid side by side together, with her head on top of my right arm. She was as close as she could get to me without repeating our previous exercise. She was still slightly slick from sweat, but I was the same.
"I meant what I said out there Doctor. I really do love you." I smiled as I looked down into her eyes. They held so much truth and sincerity that I couldn't help but smile.
"I know Rose, I know." I said to her, kissing the top of her head. The rest of the time we had together was amazing, filled with adventure inside and out of the TARDIS. Even now that she's gone in that parallel world with Meta me, I know that she's happy, and that's all I need. I will never forget my Pink and Yellow Human.
