(No POV)

The TARDIS liked to screw with the Doctor and Rose sometimes, because they were always screwing around with her. Dancing about in her, pretending they didn't love each other tremendously? Yeah. She was done with that. So, she turned of the heat.

(Doctor's POV)

Why is it getting so cold in here all of a sudden? I thought to myself, throwing an accusing glance at the console. The TARDIS hummed in a way that said "oh yeah, that was me."

"Would you please turn the heat back on? Rose can't take such cold temperatures, her biology isn't right for it." She hummed again in my mind, telepathically telling me no. I heard footsteps and something dragging across the cold metal grating. I looked behind me to see Rose, still in sleep mode, walking toward me with a blanket wrapped all around her. Only when she got a few steps closer did I notice her teeth were chattering.

"D-Doctor why is it s-so cold?" She asked me, her breath forming a small cloud in the air before evaporating.

"The TARDIS shut off the heat. I can't convince her to turn it back on. Are you too cold?" I asked, my concern immediately going to her.

"Yeah, a little bit." She said, right as a wave of cold air hit us both and she stopped breathing for a moment. I rushed to her side and picked her up bridal carry style.

"Here, I'll take you to my room. I have more blankets in there. We can hop in bed and conserve our body heat. I'm not allowing you to freeze to death in our own home, alright?" I noticed a slight blush rise up her cheeks, but I figured it was just because I was being nice.

"Thank you, Doctor." Rose remarked just as we came to my door. I kicked it open with my foot, and walked across the room to my bed. Not before closing the door though, I did that again with my foot. I set Rose down carefully on her own two feet and pulled the covers aside for her to get in the bed.

"Oi. Doctor. No shoes, tie, coat, or jacket while conserving body heat, alright? Take em off." She said, pointing as best she could through her blanket. I nodded and did as instructed. She held out part of her blanket, and I rushed over her side to get in. We then got in my bed with her blanket over us, and then my other two heavy, warm blankets over her already warn one. Rose immediately cuddled into my side, her head resting under my chin. My arm was under her neck, and the other was over her side and resting on her stomach. Her hand slipped into the hand of my arm that was under her neck.

"I like doing this with you." Rose nearly whispered.

"Doing what? Cuddling? Nearly dying?" I asked her in an equally quiet tone.

"Yes." She replied simply. I laughed.

"I'll take that as a "both" then. Why do you like cuddling with me so much though?" I asked her, hoping to get a straight forward answer. I felt and heard her sigh.

"I dunno. I just like cuddling with you, it's nice. Don't you like cuddling with me?" She asked. I detected I hint of sadness in her voice, so I replied quickly.

"No! No! I love cuddling with you! It's one of my favorite things to do! Please don't think I dislike it." I calmed my voice and pressed a kiss to the top of her head. I heard her chuckle a little.

"I'm getting warmer, what about you?" I heard her ask.

"Yeah, I'm warming up too. We should get some sleep, alright?" I told her, knowing that she'd only been asleep approximately 14 minutes and 2 seconds before waking up from the extreme cold.

"Yeah, I second that opinion. Sleep is good. Good night, Doctor. Sleep well." She yawned, falling asleep a couple moments later. I decided to fall asleep as well, and I fell asleep quite quickly with her in my arms.

"Run!" Someone yelled to a child, a Dalek laser hitting the man who spoke in the chest a moment later. The child ran and hid in an old, empty Dalek suit. I was standing right in the middle, unable to move and unnoticed. Then, I saw my wife and children running, followed by angry Daleks. The Dalek shot at them, and they all died screaming.

"No!" I screamed. Suddenly, I felt something shake me and then slap me. I opened my eyes to see a pair of concerned whiskey colored eyes staring at me, and I immediately recognized those eyes to be Rose's.

"Doctor, what happened?" She asked me, cupping my face with one hand and wiping away an escaped tear with her thumb.

"My-my family's murder." I said, hardly choking out the last word. I saw her eyes fill with something like sadness. She cuddled in closer to me.

"I'm sorry." She mumbled.

"Hey. It's not your fault, alright? Don't you ever think that it was because its not." I hastily told her, holding her just that much tighter.

"Doctor, how often do you have these type of nightmares?" She inquired, lifting her head to where her chin rested on my chest, and her head was turned to see my face.

"Every time I sleep, really." I could practically feel her deflate under my arms at my words.

"Tonight sounded like a bad one. I'm really sorry, y'know. Sorry that you have to go through something like this." I could hear her sincerity flowing out of her mouth like a waterfall.

"Tonight's nightmare wasn't the worst, Rose. I got lucky."

"What's your worst one about, Doctor? That is, if it's ok with me asking." I smiled at her.

"My worst nightmare is one with you." I said simply.

"What?" Her eyes filled with shock and confusion. Something in my snapped, an I couldn't hold back any longer.

"Ones where you die. They kill me, because I love you and your sweet little ways of doing things. I love you." I quickly said, the words nearly forming into only one word. She looked shocked beyond belief, but then she moved up quickly and kissed me square on the lips. She pulled away, and I felt as if my hearts were going to explode from joy and excitement.

"I love you too, you daft old alien." Rose whispered. I felt a happy hum in my mind, and then I realized that it was TARDIS. The heat slowly turned back on to full power, and then Rose and I nearly threw off the blankets.

"Looks like the TARDIS was playing matchmaker on us, eh?" I asked Rose, her hand in mine. She laughed.

"It worked, didn't it?" She asked me, her tongue poking out of her mouth in her smile.

"Yes it did." I said through a smirk, dipping my head down to kiss her. We snogged for a bit, and then went back to bed with less blankets and far less clothing.
