Should I linger?
Should I stay?
Or might it be better
If I just went away?
Should I make my claim—
Should I take the blame?
I tried to do what's right,
But try as I might,
Fate has worked against me,
So how can you fault me?
Regardless of what they learn,
It is of no concern,
I am absolved of my sin,
As if it had never been,
I have won in more ways than one,
And this matter is solved and done.
