Wikipedia describes a Mary-Sue character as:
"An idealised fictional character, a young or low-rank person who saves the day through unrealistic abilities. Often this character is recognised as an author insert and/or wish-fulfilment."
They are most commonly found in fan fictions and as most people know, they are very annoying.
I'm not a professional writer or anything but I've read enough stories to know a good character from a bad one.
So here is my personal guide to not creating or using a Mary-Sue character. Use it how you will. I myself follow these steps when I write.
Each chapter will be brief and a maximum of 250 words.
