So this doesn't have a lot to do with a specific Mary-Sue but it does wind me up.
Every story has more than one character (I apologise if I'm wrong) which means that there will be more than one name in your story. Just because you have a character of a different race, doesn't mean you /have/ to use a stereotypical name. Perhaps your character prefers to use a different name. I for instance know a Turkish boy who prefers to have a British name.
I suppose surrounding a Mary-Sue (or Gary-Stu) with obvious (and often boring since they are so overused) names, means that they end up standing out more. In turn, this makes them appear even more Mary-Sue.
Yeah, this isn't a direct rant chapter but I'm sure many of you will agree with me on this. Side characters deserve names just as thought out as the main character.
