God, this babble will never end. Did she really think I was even slightly attracted? I'm pretty sure a klenex tissue would be able to wipe off the pretty from her face. No thanks, I preferred real girls. You know, the kind that actually liked my music and willing to go to a rock concert. This girl was a total preppy. "So, you're roommates with Amanda right?" I asked, trying to make it obvious that I was interested in the other girl.

"The goth prep? Yeah, unfortunately." Yeah, this conversation was going to be extremely short.

"Can you ask her to come over here? I could use some help with my guitars and I'm sure she'd like to come back stage."

"Sure I can't help? A pretty face always helps a rocker."

"That's exactly why I'm asking for her." I said as nicely as I could and knew I finally got her to understand when she started to walk away.

"Finally got rid of her. I bet she didn't even write the interview questions." Drayven said in a hushed tone.

"Probably not, only a fan would come up with half those questions. And I heard Amanda quizing her before we walked in. Twenty bucks says it was all Amanda."

"I'd take the bet but I know you'd have to be right."

"Hey, you asked for me?" Speaking of the devil, before I knew it I was standing face to face with the girl.

"Umm...yeah..." I said with my mouth staying open.

"Okay. What do you need from me?"

"A date?" Yeah, that was real smooth. I didn't even know what I was saying or thinking when she's around and yet I'm asking her on a date where I'd have to come up with conversation on my own? Great job.

"I'm sorry, but I don't think you'd really want that. Kinda messed up in the head." She said with a small smile. "Anyting else?"

"Uh..yes..I was umm...I was wondering if umm.."

"He wanted you to hand him the different guitars as he needs them during the show so you can be back stage." Drayven butted in.

"Sure thing!" She said happily. "Just give me a few to grab a smoke and I'll be more than happy to learn which ones you need and when."

"Go after her!" Drayven practically demanded once she was out of ear shot.

"You heard her, she's not interested."

"Yeah, she's not interested yet she was glaring at that preppy girl the entire time she flirted with you."

"That doesn't mean anything. She just doesn't like her roommate." I challenged.

"She all but ran over here when she found out you needed her."

"I'm not pushing her, Drey, I'm not like that."

"Well you need to be. Don't let this one go because of her being stubborn."

"She can come to me."

"I know girls like that, she won't, she'll wait for you. She obviously needs to see someone is willing to chase her and put up a fight just to be able to say she's theirs."

"You can't possibly know that."

"I know that she's damn good and if you don't go after her, I will."

"Bro code, dude, bro code."

"Hey, you don't want her bad enough."

"Fuck. You." I said before getting everything set up and making sure my guitars were tuned the way I'd need them to be. It was going to be hard to not stare the entire show and try to act like it was no big deal being turned down. It really wasn't, I was always being turned down by the cute girls. Even Mary at first, until she finally said yes but that was a mistake. After only three months she cheated on me and I didn't find out until two years later. Still haven't been able to trust anyone enough to really date.
