I woke up the next morning to the smell of freshly made coffee. I grabbed my phone to see when I had finally woken up. Damn two in the evening, I never slept this late since I moved here. Which, come to think about it, was kinda weird. I was always a night owl and slept all day which is why the nursing career was perfect for me. Sitting up, I rubbed my eyes and yawned.

"Morning." I heard from the doorway.

"Evening." I told him with a grin and stood up. "Don't you have band practice?"

"Nope. It got canceled so we can grab all your things. And before you ask, Xander made sure that he grabbed your craft stuff." Ashes said softly, handing over a cup of coffee. "Hope I made it right."

I took a sip and nodded slowly. I wasn't looking forward to moving all my things again, not to mention having to talk to my parents with even Davey around. Then again, I don't know why it mattered because I probably wouldn't be able to go anywhere and my parents had their perfect child finally and that defiantly wasn't me. "We can start taking my things out once I find out the tuition and dorm stuff." I told him gently.

Within a few hours, I was starting to pack up all my things and got onto a Skype call with my parents. They made it very clear that they weren't pleased that I was moving in with a guy I wasn't even dating but 'it was a good thing' due to the fact that I'm a chick. "Davey will be fine and he's one of the few guys Ashes trusts to not hit on me. Besides I'll still be paying rent and that once I graduate."

"Speaking of that." My mom started. "We won't be there."

"Why?" I questioned. "I purposely made sure I would be graduating when Dad could take off of work. I made sure the hotel reservations were correct. Everything!"

"Lexy is graduating early and we have to be there before she goes off to nursing school. She's going to be a great nurse."

"I'm your daughter! What about me?" I cried.

"We will see you again." My mom told me simply.

"But you won't see me graduate again. I've worked really hard!"

"I'm sure you have but I have to go. Lexy needs to go to dance." With that my mom hung up and I looked at the clock. It was already almost eight so I sent a text to everyone who mattered saying that I was going to the bar and my phone was going to be turned off.

I didn't care what happened tonight. Nothing about my conversation with my parents went right. The way I dressed wasn't proper. My choices weren't good. My friends were just trying to get me to do what they did, whatever that meant seeing as I gave all the options. My taste in. Music wasn't what it used to be. Hell, I didn't even get to hear that I'd be a great nurse. I just got a 'that's good' and barely spoke to anyone since I moved.

I wanted the perfect life. I'd even be happy to just be pretty enough. I didn't have anything going for me when it came to her and I was sure that my writings would be shit if she started writing. Oh, wait, that's right they already were because that was my entire problem. If I didn't marry the pen and paper I'd be happy.

I didn't know what time it was when I heard Ashes from behind. "I'm fine." I slurred horribly.

"No you're not, baby, come on." He offered.

"No!" I tried to fight back before paying my tab and let him take me to the car. I sobbed the entire way.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"I just want to be perfect." I whispered.
