I glanced over to her in a confused way. "Baby, what are you talking about?" She didn't answer me and I didn't push her any further. I could tell she was upset before I picked her up, even though it had taken three hours to find her and I just wanted to find out why she went to the bar alone. She sobbed as her head laid on the window and I took hold of her hand.

After texting Davey, I was glad that he would let us stay at his place since he had more room and this happened to be family visiting weekend with everyone else. "Where did you find her?" He asked as we got Amanda up the stairs and into the apartment.

"Barney's. She's pretty bad but I've got a bottle of aspirin." I told him before sitting her on the bed and was left alone to try to get her dressed.

"No, stop! I can dress myself!" She slurred and started to push me away.

"Mandabear, please let me help you." I told her calmly.

"No! I'm not a fucking slut I can do this myself!" She squealed.

"Okay....I'm gonna step out while you change and get you some water...." With that, I stepped out of the room, but didn't move right away. I could hear her change and knew she didn't fall before grabbing the aspirin and bottled water from the freezer. I walked back in to see her sleeping on the bed, laying everything out for her to see when she woke up.

"You sleeping in here tonight?" Davey asked from behind me.

"No." I said as I turned around. "She's hurt enough, I'll just sleep on the couch."

"Alright." Davey said before letting me out of the room and shutting the door closed.

I needed to be close, but I also didn't want her to think I was going to take advantage every time she went out and drank too much. Though whatever happened between her meeting with financial aide and when she texted everyone had me worried. She didn't seem like someone who would just run to a bottle and try to drown all of her problems. She dealt with them.

I grabbed a blanket and pillow to lay on the couch, though I couldn't sleep. Pacing, I kept looking out the window. She wasn't even this bad when we had all gone out and Jayy mae sure she was good and drunk. She had to have been upset and who ever called her a slut better hopeI don't find out who they are or they will be sorry. I looked up when a cup of coffee was handed to me. "You gonna be okay?"

"Yeah." I lied.

"She's gonna be fine, you'll see. Just try to sleep."

"I can't do that, Davey. She might wake up and she's in a different place than she's used to. What if she would get up and try to walk out? Or worse, what if she wakes up and can't breath?"

"There's plenty of what ifs, but she'll be fine. Look, I got one of her sister's numbers from her phone. That Kayla girl." Davey offered.

"Okay, and..?"

"And she and Becca are willing to skype with us to calm your ass down."

"They don't need to to that." I told him before looking at the clock. It was almost midnight.

"It's only about eight there I think, it's fine." He said before pulling out his laptop and started it up. I didn't hear much of the conversation, I couldn't sit down for long.

"Do either of you know if she spoke to her parents recently?" I heard Becca question.

"Not a clue. She just went to talk about getting out of the dorms and start packing her stuff." Davey tod her. I knew they weren't that close anymore, but I never asked why. It really wasn't my business until she decided to tell me.

"Well, find out. If she did that's why she's as drunk as she is." She told us before I went back towards the bedroom. I didn't know when Davey finally got me to lay down and sleep, but it was around noon before I heard anything around me.

"Ashes? Wake up, hunny." I heard distantly.

"Five more minutes." I mumbled.

"Why don't you come sleep in a bed then, it'll be more comfortable than the couch."

"Manda?" I asked as I turned around to see her standing next to me with a cup of coffee. "How you feeling?"

"Alright, thanks." She said softly before I finally decided to stand myself. The offer of a bed sounded great after spending a few hours on the couch. "Come on, I'm sorry if I kicked you out of bed last night."

"You didn't, I chose to sleep out here. I wanted to make sure you didn't think..."

"How bad was I?" She asked.

"Bad." And that was all the further I was going to go. I didn't want to question about her break down.

"What's this about you thinking wrongly about yourself?" Davey questioned.

"What are you talking about?" Amanda asked, clearly not remembering anything.

"You called yourself a slut. You know that to be wrong about you."

"It-it's nothing." She stuttered.

"Sure about that?"

"Yes." She said defiantly.

"Alright, fine." Davey told her before grabbing a coat. "I'm heading out. See you guys later. Band at five today, Ashes." He called and shut the door.

"You're perfect you know that?" I told her gently, pushing a strand of hair behind her ear.

"No, I'm not, trust me." She said sadly.

"Why woud you think that?"

"Simple, I'm not the perfect one. And don't ask, I don't want to talk about it, I really don't. THanks for everything, but I have to go. Kind of an early shift today." She told me before putting her cup in the sink and walking out.

Flashes of Mary came back to me. She had said similar, or more of the lines that she wasn't perfect enough. She ended up getting in her car and driving off a cliff. I don't remember much after that, but by the time I got outside, Amanda was gone. Sighing to myself, I hoped onto my bike and sped off. Memories of my past and the possibilities of my present came crashing down on me. I couldn't tell you how fast I was going or where I was headed, I just knew I lost control and before losing conscience, I called 911.
