Wow, I couldn't believe he had actually set up a picnic out here. Not to mention we were at the perfect spot, secluded and very close to the water's edge. It was absolutely perect, and the food was amazing too. As far as seconds dates go, this was defiantly amazng. Though it wasn't a date, was it? I already said no and defiannty regretted it, but I couldn't handle hurting anyone again. I had done enough of that in the past year. I kept my gaze up at the stars and remembered why I had always came to this particular beach to think or to feel normal. I was surrounded by eerything I needed most of the time. Plus no internet service and barely any cell service. It was just all around a perfect spot.
"Can I ask you something?" He asked after a few moments.
"Yeah sure."
"Give me a chance?"
"Yes." I said softly, though I knew I should have said no. I was going to destroy him, make him regret ever being with me, not to mention just thinking that he wanted to be with me.
"Really?" He asked, obviously shocked.
"Yeah, really." I said with a wide smile. I'd be his favorite mistake and I was surprisingly okay with that. "You know..I actually come out here when I need to write or in a writer's block?" I said after a bit.
"I didn't. It's peaceful out here. I like to come out and just strum on my guitar for hours."
"I'd love to be a crab in the sand to hear you play when nobody is around." I whispered, resting my head on his shoulder, his arms were wrapped around me almost instantly and we just laid there on the beach, looking at the stars and having small chit chat every now and then.
Little did I know, that would be our typical date nights, every saturday after my shift, we would ride out here and slowly we'd start doing the little things that we typically did alone together. I'd write while he strummed his guitar and when I needed to meditate, though we were together it was like I was alone. It had become perfect bliss in the short two months that had followed.
I still lived in my dorm, but I stayed with Ashes on the weekends and when my roommate was gone, he'd sneak in to spend the night with me and leave before she'd return. Nobody knew of our relationship besides the band and we were both okay with that. I wasn't ready for the fans to hate me and he liked to keep his personal life, well, personal. I didn't need everyone to know and I was willing to wait until he was ready for me to even tell me friends and family. We went out, but nothing to really show we were dating and in a sense, it made everything feel mysterious.
"Hey, Manda, what's this?" Xander asked me as I finisherd getting ready to leave the dorm for us to go out on a small shopping trip.
"Uh..nothing." I said quickly and took my cell from him to look at the text and respond.
"Bull shit, what is your lock screen?"
"The same that it's been for a while. My favorite picture of Ashes."
"No it's not." He said, letting it be known that he wasn't going to be giving up any time soon. "Look, either you tell or I'm taking off. I'm not dealing with you lying."
"Xander, I'm not lying. Just let it go!"
"No, tell me what's going on." I sighed and took a quick look outside before shutting the door and fidgeted a little.
He wasn't going to be happy that I didn't wait for him to be okay but Xander was my only friend in the dormitories. I couldn't risk him leaving. "Alright fine..." I said before handing over my phone. "It's of us. We've been going out for a little bit but we've been waiting for the right time to tell anyone."
"Why wouldn't you tell me? I'm your best friend!"
"Becca doesn't even know." I whispered, trying to hold the tears in. I hated fighting, though I was damn good at it.
"But I'm your best friend out here! How long have you been seeing him?"
"About two months now." I admitted.
"Two months? And you don't think it's time yet?"
"Look, things are a little different than dating someone in the dorms and you know it. Please, don't tell anybody."
"I know and I won't, but I have to walk out for a little, Manda. I'll see you in about an hour." He said before walking out and I sat on my bed. Shit, could this day get any worse?
"So, you and Ashes the cutie are dating?" Bree said as she walked into the room.
"No. What would give you that idea? I'm not even his type." I lied smoothly. It was hard enought to tell King Gossip but it would spread quicker than wild fire if she caught word.
"Yeah right, I over heard. I was right outside." She said smugly.
"Bull shit." I shot at her.
"Really? Check Twitter and Facebook. Not to mention the tabloids know as well. They can't wait for me to spill who the mystery woman is. And when everyone knows it's you, they'll know that he's downgraded. You're not worth a cutie like him."
"Shut the fuck up!" I screamed before grabbing my phone and running out, calling Ashes instead of texting because this was way too much to text. "I'm sorry." I whispered.
"Who did you tell, Mandabear?" Ashes questioned as soon as he answered.
"I only told Xander because he saw my--"
"Gossip King? It's everywhere, I'm not ready for the fans to know yet."
"I know, but-"
"I'm sorry, but I think we should stay away from each other for a while." He said before hanging up and I ran straight to Xander with tears in my eyes.
"X open up please!" I cried.
"What's going on, Manda?"
"A-Ashes is mad at me because the fucking perfect bitch over heard us." I sobbed, trying to stop myself from stuttering. "I should have never said yes. I knew I'd fuck things up and he'd want nothing to do with me."
"Hey..now he didn't say that did he?" Xander tried to comfort me as I sat on his bed.
"He said that we should stay away from each other for a while and he's going to be leaving for tour soon which means he won't want me for sure when he comes back." I told him before my phone started to go off. I took a deep breath and in a normal voice I answered. "Hello?"
"Hey." Becca said. "So when were you gonna tell me you and Ashes are dating?"
"When we were redy for everyone to find out. Please don't be mad."
"Oh, I'm not." She said.
"Good because I think everything is over after this." I told her truthfully.
"Oh hell no, what's his number?"
"Baby, no. I'm not letting you call him.."
"I will get his number some how. What is it?"
I sighed and sent her a text with his number. "Try to be nice." I said softly before hanging up with her. I just sat and cried. How could I ever be so stupid? Two months, that had to be a record for me to mess things up. Seriously, what was so wrong with me. "Hello?" I said after the fourth time my phone went off.
"Hey, where are you?" Drayven questioned.
"At the dorms why?"
"Can you come down to the studio? And before you say anything, none of us are made at you, even Mr Pacer over here."
I sighed softly. "I can't. He doesn't want to see me."
"No, right now he's getting scream at by Satan's daughter. Why'd you give her his number?"
"Because, she's my best friend and it was better to have her yell over the phone instead of her getting on a plane." I said honestly. "I'll be over in a bit, okay?" I asked and hung up before driving over to the studio, making the trip in half the time and not caring if a cop pulled me over. I needed to spead and blast my music. I couldn't possibly let any of them see the tears fall.
