My head was spinning like mad as I walked through the ER doors and got my things put away in my locker. I sighed softly as I looked into the mirror and pulled my hair up. I knew I shouldn't, but I really wanted last night to replay. I really wanted to see him again, but I was sure he was just being nice.

Pushing those thoughts out of my head, I walked out to the nuse's desk and looked through the computer to see who all needed attending to. "Timmy is back." Xander said from behind me.

"Okay, I'm going to head there. Just make up a list of my patients at the moment and I'll get it all taken care of." I said before I went over to Timmy's room, taking a deep breath so I could calm myself. I hated his father for many reasons, but the main was when he blamed the poor boy for something that wasn't his fault. Cancer was one hell of a trip, let alone for a small five year old. "Hey, Timmy!"

"Nurse Manda!" He said with a huge smile. "See, Daddy, I told you she'd be here. She's always here when I am."

I couldn't help but laugh. "That's right, I'm always here. What's going on tonight"

"I was coughing ad saw stars. I also coughed up blood so my mom was scared and made Daddy bring me here."

"That darn blood, it just doesn't want to stay with you." I said with a small laugh. "Okay, buddy, you know how this works. Lay back."

"Okay." He said as he laid back and let me take his blood with ease and get him set up for the doctor to go in. It broke my heart to see such a strong little boy go through so much and have to constantly battle. I really hoped he would end up beating this thing.

"Alrighty, the doc will see you in a few." I told him before heading out to the nurses' desk and sent the tubes to the lab. Around three in the morning, I texted Ashes to let him know that I was going to be let go in about an hour, and reminded him that he didn't have to come get me.

"Okay, sweety, so before you leave, spill. Mr Hotty dropped you off last night." Xander said once I got into the locker room and threw off my scrub top. "And you didn't change."

"So? Maybe I was so hung over that I barely woke up in time to get here." I shot back.

"Yeah, I'm sure. Come on, spill!"

I rolled my eyes at him. There was no way I was telling anything to the gossip king. "It was nothing. Just a group of people who decided to go for drinks and he was just a little worried about me driving since I didn't sleep much last night." I said before trying to turn away to hide the smile.

"Bull shit. You slept with him!"

"No. Besides, when did you want to know about my non existant sex life?"

"Since Mr. Hottie may be a part of it."

"No, he plays for my team. Nothing happened last night. Nothing will happen. He's just concerned." I said evenly and said my goodbyes to the other nurses around.

"Hey." Ashes said once I got outside.
