I had been in and out of ER rooms from the time I first got there as well as trying to call Ashes and keeping contact with Drayven to see if he heard anything. Sighing softly, I grabbed hold of my Mountain Dew. The ER never seemed this busy, but being that I didn't know what was going on outside of the hospital made it worse. In the middle of checking a chart, an announcement came over the loud speaker. "Accident victim. ETA five minutes."

"Fahr, I'm going to need you." The doc said and I nodded. Running into the trauma room, I started getting things ready for the patient. I kept myself busy, refusing to think Ashes had been hit. Yeah, that wasn't a good thought to have in my head. I tried to push the worst from my mind and did everything I could to stay busy. Once the accident victim was rolled in, we transferred him over to the hospital bed.

I leaned over so the man would be able to see me. "Sir, you're safe. We are going to take care of you." I said with confidence before getting the neck brace on and removing the helmet. I froze, I couldn't move. No, this had to be a nightmare. Maybe I was still drunk and dreaming. I'd wake up any moment and he'd be laying next to me with no cuts or bruises.

"Amanda!" The doc said sternly. "You able to handle this?"

"Yes." I said without thought. "Hunny...you're gonna be okay. I'm just gonna get you something for pain." I whispered before he grabbed hold of my hand. I tried to fight the tears that came to my eyes. I should have known better than to walk out the way I did. He probably didn't stop at a light or something. Someone hit him because he was too distracted because of me.

"I'm sorry." He whispered.

"No, don't be. I should be the sorry one, Babe. Can you take morphine? I-I don't want you to feel what's next..." I whispered, able to see most of the broken bones in his leg. He attempted to nod his head and I left his side to get everything I needed. I knew the rules on HIPPA but I texted Drayven anyways to let him know where Ashes was. With everything in hand, I got the needle into his arm and leaned over to face Ashes once more. "I'll be here when you wake up." I whispered, giving him just enough of morpheme to make him sleepy and completely out of pain before finishing what I had to.

"Okay, we need an x-ray. Police say the bike landed on his right leg and skidded off." The doctor said before one of the other nurses went to grab our x-ray machine. "Amanda, go see if his family is here. Let them know what's going on and get right back in here."

"Yes, sir." I said before walking out to the ER waiting room. "Family of Ashes Anderson?" I asked, trying to keep my voice calm as a man and woman came over to me. I didn't see any of the guys but I assumed they were stuck in traffic.

"Yes?" The woman asked.

"Hi, I'm Amanda. I'm Ashes' attending nurse. The doctor wanted me to let you know that he will be okay, we had to give him some morpheme to help sedate him but I need to ask you a few questions." I was shaking a little as I looked between his parents.

"Of course, dear, but are you also his girlfriend?"

I was shocked at the question, but answered truthfully. "Yes, but while I'm here I'm a nurse and I promise to take wonderful care of him. May we go into a private room?" I asked and they followed me. I opened the file and looked over it for a moment. "If I may ask, are you his parents?"

"Yes." His father said.

"Thank you. Mr and Mrs Anderson, has he ever had an addiction or allergic reaction to medication?"

"A little. Last time he wrecked...his doctor gave him too much of painkillers. He had luckily asked for help before it was too bad." Mrs Anderson said.

"Last time? Can you elaborate on that."

"I think that's more for him to say." Mr Anderson said.

"Mr Anderson, I need to remind you, I am acting solely as a nurse. Whatever you say is not going to be repeated while I'm off the clock."

"Alright..then what happened before he wreck?"

"I-I..." I had to take a deep breath. It had seemed like nothing I honestly didn't know why this happened. "I had left the apartment saying that he didn't get it and he wouldn't until he met the perfect one..."

"I don't think I want you taking care of my son then. After all, you must be just like her."

"Mr Anderson, I respect you are upset with how I left, but I am the best he has. Just as well , I need to know what happened last time." I said a little sternly.

"Steve, let me." Mrs Anderson said calmly. "Last time this happened, he found out an ex girlfriend had driven her car off the road and died. He was extremely upset about it and took off on his bike." She told me in an extremely soft voice.

"Did he have memory loss?"

"Yes. He....he didn't wear a helmet that day and forgot Mary was gone. We kept telling him what happened but he would literally go insane. He threw everything in sight and even flipped the couch a few times. Please, tell me my son didn't hit his head on concrete again." She cried.

I handed over the tissues. "He did wear his helmet. I was the one who took it off. He may have a small concussion which we are monitoring but we are going to need to reset bones and such, we are keeping an eye on him in case there's any other damages."

"Who is his doctor?" Mr Anderson question.

"Dr Clifford. He's one of the best." I assured.

"Amanda, we need you. He's waking up and trying to remove his needles."

"Okay, go tell him I am coming back." I said quickly. "Mr and Mrs Andersom thank you. We will keep you up to date. If you'd like you may wait in the waiting room." I said before quickly getting up and running back to Ashes' room. "Everyone, step back." I told them before making sure he could see me. "What's wrong?"

"Head.....head hurts.....bad." He said hoarsely. "Help."

"I will, but I need you to try to relax, okay?" I asked as I placed a hand on the side of his face, watching him relax a little. I couldn't imagine how much pain he was in and it was killing me.

"How bad is it?" I just shook my head, I didn't want to tell him how bad he really was. His entire leg was broken and now in a cast after the doctor reset the bones, his hand was broken, and now we had to watch for a concussion. "Manda, just tell me."

I took a deep breath before answering. "Your leg is completely broken from the bike as well as your hand."

He gave a weak smile. "That's not too bad.."

"You can't play for at least a month..."

"That's bad." He said before wincing and placed his good hand over his temple.

"Here, I'll find out what we can do for the headache, okay?" I asked and walked back out.
