He beats me to the lobby but holds my hand as we run towards the gates of the park together. He pulls out the tickets from his wallet and they let us through the barrier, I walk out onto Main St completely in awe of everything I can see. "Where do we start?" Nathan asks standing beside me holding a map. "Let's just see where we end up" I say smiling at him. We decide on the rides and make our way around the park, only stopping for some lunch in a BBQ restaurant in Frontier Land. Then it's straight back to exploring. I feel like I am in a Disney movie, you can imagine how excited I get each time we bump into one of the characters, both of us posing for photos like little kids. The park isn't as busy as I thought it would be, what with it being Christmas. The park closes earlier during winter, so we walk around some of the shops and buy a hat each, Nathan's has Mickey Mouse ears and mine has Minnie Mouse ears, we look ridiculous but we don't care.
We find a spot along Main St and settle down to watch the parade, it's spectacular, the floats are amazing and the performers are fantastic, I end up singing along to all the songs they play with a young girl sitting next to me. It gets dark quick and there is a chill in the air, I snuggle closer to Nathan as the fireworks start, it's the most magical experience especially seeing TinkerBell in the sky right at the end. Words can't begin to describe how I feel at this exact moment but being here with Nathan has made me the happiest girl in the world.
We take a slow walk back towards the entrance, it's been a long day but I'm not tired. "Should we grab something to eat before we head back?"
"Sure, let's head to Disney Village" he says slipping his arm through mine.
We get back to our room frozen but happy. I run the bath, adding the fancy bubble bath provided by the hotel. Like I guessed it's big enough for both of us, I lay back against him enjoying being in his embrace. He wraps his fingers around mine and kisses my neck. "Was it everything you dreamed it would be?"
"It was so much more; because I got to share it with you"
It's Christmas Eve, we had an amazing breakfast with some of the Disney characters; you could tell it's meant mainly for children but that doesn't stop me. I meet Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy I end up dancing with Donald, making Nathan slightly jealous in the process. He gets a shock when we leave and walk the wrong way, bumping into the characters taking their costumes off and Donald is actually a woman. We spend a few hours finishing off the rides we want to go on, then split up and go shopping before meeting back at the hotel to change for dinner. Nan made me pack something dressy, she said I would need it and she was right. Nathan got dressed and left while I was in the shower I have no idea where he has gone. Once I am ready to go in a black roll neck jumper, pale pink tulle skirt and black ankle boots, there is a knock at the door. The concierge clerk hands me a note with a knowing smile. I open it eagerly.
I will be waiting in the lobby to sweep you off your feet xxxx
I have no idea what he has planned but I'm excited to find out. As the lift doors ping open I can see him standing by the reception in a well cut suit, he looks so handsome. He is holding a large bunch of white roses -he knows they are my favourite- and looks anxious, until he turns and sees me walking towards him; it quickly turns to a look of pure love. "Wow. You look beautiful" he says kissing my cheek and handing me the flowers. "These are lovely, what's going on?" I ask him suspiciously. The concierge appears at my side and relieves me of the flowers; suddenly I am being lifted off the floor. "I told you I was going to sweep you off your feet" he says carrying me out the door. I wrap my arms around his neck and kiss his cheek I am not expecting what is waiting for us outside.
I have to do a double look just to be sure my eyes aren't playing tricks on me. Lit up in beautiful little fairy lights is a horse-drawn carriage. It's breathtaking, I am lost for words. "Do you like it?" Nathan asks putting me down. I can't talk so I just grab his hand and nod. He leads me over and the driver helps me up, waiting till we are seated before taking the reign and setting off. People keep stopping to watch and wave, I feel like a Princess. The park looks like its closing but we are waved through and continue up Main St towards Sleeping Beauty's castle. I finally find my voice. "I don't understand. How did you organise this?"
"Dave and Barbara, they are friends with one of the shareholders and they arranged it for me" he says smiling. He hasn't let go of my hand since we left "They came into work about a month ago and I mentioned I was planning on bringing you here and how much you love Disney and next thing I know she was on the phone and it was all sorted" he says helping me down from the carriage.
There is someone waiting to take us inside the castle, it's stunning, exactly how I imagined it would be. They are opening a new restaurant within the castle in the New Year and we are the first people to try it. It's such a romantic setting, what with the stained glass windows, fairy lights and huge Christmas tree. The food is delicious, rather than having a three course meal, we are sampling the entire menu, washed down with plenty of champagne. The carriage is waiting to take us back to the main gate, once we leave the park it's only about a ten minute walk back to the hotel and neither of us are in a rush.
"I have had such a great evening, I could stay here with you forever" he says stopping and turning me to face him. He kisses me and at that exact moment it starts to snow. I look up at him, drinking in his gorgeous face. "Nathan, this has been so magical you're so thoughtful and sweet. It's been a perfect evening and I can't wait to spend all day snuggled up in bed with you tomorrow" I say moving closer to him. My face crinkles slightly. "What is it?" He asks searching my eyes. I look down at floor but he gently lifts my chin so I have no choice but to look him in the eyes. "I.....love you" I whisper. He looks surprised and then completely overjoyed, lifting me up in the air and spinning me round. He is laughing like a mad man "I can't believe you just said that, do you know how amazing it was to hear those words, finally" he says beaming at me. "I know, because I am not afraid of my feelings anymore you're my everything I want to grow old with you and I love you with all my heart I always have".
It's the best Christmas I've ever had, we opened each other's presents and didn't leave the room all day. We only got out the bed for room service and to take a shower, he has well and truly spoilt me. Our last day, we had spa treatments and went out for a drink ending up completely wasted so the journey home the following day was spent hungover. I didn't want to come home it's straight back to eight shows a week for me but on the plus side there is so much to look forward to this year. I get to work with Michael Bublé, my best friend is getting married and I get to make more memories with the man I love.
