Chapter 7 Part One: Reading Minds

Chloe's P.O.V.

Niall quickly lead me back to his car as soon as he was sure Jarrod left. I couldn't process that he was going to kill me!! Do my parents know about this? They must have if they sent Niall and the boys to protect me. I can't believe this, if I need to protect myself from Jarrod and the rest of The Council I really need to focus on perfecting my abilities. I looked over at Niall, he had a firm grip on the steering wheel and was focusing intently on the road. He tried his best to make tonight perfect, and Jarrod had to come scare the sh*t out of me and ruin what could have been a perfect night. It could have ended perfectly maybe even with a kiss.

Pulling up to the house, I let out a sigh and opened the door with Niall following me as I entered the house. As soon as we stepped foot into the living room smiles on the boys faces were replaced with questioning looks. "Jarrod threatened Chloe" Niall said, I took that as an excuse to leave. I guess Charlotte and Matt left since I knew she would have bombarded me with questions. Walking into my room I saw a note, from Charlotte.

I should be back in 3 weeks. Matt and I had to go back Home. Plus the boys agreed that it would be easier for you to practice your abilities with less people around. I hope your date was a success! Tell me everything when I get back ;) Remember be safe. ~Charlotte

I smiled weakly at her note, she was so sweet and nice to me. She reminded me so much of Cassidy. She wasn't ever afraid to speak her mind and liked to talk a lot. I really miss Cassidy, I can't wait until this is over so I can be with my friends and family again. I really needed to have one of our late night talks and get everything off my chest.

Before I could take my dress off Niall came in. "Chloe I know you're probably scared about Jarrod, but I won't ever let him hurt you. I didn't know that he would come this soon and threaten you. We should have never left the house, I ruined everything. " He said quickly, his hands running through his hair.

"You didn't ruin anything Niall. The date was perfect and I couldn't have imagined greater. It's not your fault that Jarrod came, he wants me not you. I should be the one apologizing, you must have spent hours planning out our date and I..." I was cut off, Niall gently placed his lips to mine.

It was amazing, our lips moved together perfectly as my hands wrapped behind his neck while his hands rested on my waist tracing patterns, causing me to smile. Suddenly I saw flashes playing in my head of Niall and I, I couldn't exactly tell what we were doing but I thought I saw Jarrod some where in the background. I pulled away before I could see anymore, if Jarrod was there I definitely didn't want to see him. I've had enough of him today, especially since I know he wants to kill me.

Niall rested his forehead on mine smiling at me. I knew we both enjoyed that kiss but seeing Jarrod, or what could have been him, I realized that I need to keep my focus on perfecting my abilities.

"Niall I really enjoyed our date and that kiss. But knowing that Jarrod wants to kill me, I think we should wait on us. I really like you and Im afraid that we begin a relationship he will use my feelings against me in some way and hurt you." I said looking at his blue eyes.

He hugged me tight so now my head was against his chest. "I understand you completely but he's going to have to get through me first" he kissed the top of my head pulling me from his chest so we were both looking at each other. I smiled, I knew I could trust him and I knew he wouldn't give up. He leaned in kissing me softly on my nose his hands caressing my cheeks.

"I'll wait forever for you" he kissed me again, making this a lot harder than it should be.

"You're so cheesy" I giggled kissing him again, then quickly pulling away. "Goodnight" I said leading him out the door, before I could close it completely he left another kiss on my cheek.  

"Goodnight Niall" I said once again.

Louis and I have been working on my tracking ability non stop this whole week, I want to be able to do this while I'm asleep. My day consists of eating, training, eating, then sleeping. I still talk to the rest of the boys but not as much as I did when I first began to train. Yesterday was my final day with Louis, so we were putting everything he thought me to the test. He had each if the boys, including, himself pick an item and hide it any where on the property. It doesn't seem hard, but to be considered a professional at tracking I need to locate what I needed to in seconds. They each told me what they hid. Zayn hid his phone, Liam hid his shoes, Harry hid his sunglasses, Niall hid a CD of his, and Louis hid his favorite movie.

They all congratulated me on finding all of the items quickly, not as fast as Louis could, but fast. At least I'm getting there but I know that I will be practicing that and levitating objects as well. Just to make sure I don't forget anything that I learned previously. Today I'm going to find out who will be mentoring me on my next ability, now it's either Harry, Liam, or Niall. I know when I have to work with Niall it's going to be very hard to focus, I did after all like him more than a friend.

We headed out into the backyard once again. Zayn and Louis stood off to the side since I have already been mentored by them. "Liam" I smiled and the rest of the boys went back inside.

"You already know that I can read minds. So lets get right to it." he smiled and lead me over to a table.

"Okay think of a sentence, it can be anything" he said as I scanned my brain for a sentence.

I thought of the sentence. Michael Jackson dove off large cliffs. It was just something that popped into my head.

"Michael Jackson dove off large cliffs" he said looking straight at me causing my jaw to drop. I knew he could read minds but this still is amazing!

"How do I do that" I said probably sounding like a child causing him to laugh.

"All you have to do is clear your mind and focus on one person. The only catch is that they have to be in the same room as you." I nodded understanding.

"Tell me what am I thinking" he said.

I did what he told me to do and cleared my mind, closing my mind focusing on Liam.

"Hey!" I said playfully slapping his arm, a chuckle erupting from his mouth.

"We all think you and Niall are cute together" he poked my side.

I laughed and continued on with Liam mentoring me. I think this ability is going to be one of my favorites.
