Chapter 2: Abilities

Chapter 2:

"You can ask me anything ya know" he said.

I have been staring out the window listening to the radio as rain began to fall. We were driving for at least 5 hours I wasn't sad but I definitely was terrified.

"What's your name? How do you know me and my family?" I began.

His eyes were still focused on the road when he answered.

"Niall, and I have been working for your father for quite some time now. He trusted me to keep you safe until we take care of The Council. And to also get you ready for your 18th birthday."

What was this guy saying. It sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie.

"Who are 'The Council' and what is going to happen on my birthday?"

Niall took a deep breath before answering me this time.

"The Council is a powerful group of people that make the rules for our kind. On your birthday everything that your father wants me to teach you will go into full effect. You will become stronger the closer your birthday gets and you will change".

What! This has to be fake what could I possibly change into?

"What do you mean by our kind?" I asked hoping he wouldn't say anything too frightening.

"This is hard to say. You might not understand"

"Tell me." I demanded.

"We are enchanters."

"Is that some kind of fan group or something." I laughed.

"Not at all. We each have our own special abilities and abilities that we all share. We are much more powerful than the average human."

He pulled up to a small house in the middle of nowhere. I stepped out of the car taking in my surroundings.

"C'mon let me introduce you to my friends who will hopefully be yours soon."

We walked into the back where 4 guys were kicking a ball back and forth between them.

"Lads come here!" Niall shouted and all 4 of them came jogging over.

"Introduce your selves." Niall said nicely pushing me towards them.

"I'm Zayn." He had a massive amount of tattoos and his hair was jet black.

"Louis." The next one said, he had beautiful blue eyes and brown hair.

"I'm Liam. Nice to meet you." He stretched his hand out for me to shake it.

"Nice to meet you too." I quietly said, still unsure about what was going on.

"I'm Harry." The last one said. He had brown curly hair and gorgeous green eyes. I also noticed dimples when he smiled.

They all were extremely attractive, making me feel somewhat happier considering the situation I was in. They all continued on with their activity while Niall showed me inside. He brought me upstairs to a small room.

"This is your room." I sat down on the bed looking around the room.

"Where are my parents?" I asked feeling tears brim my eyes. Niall sat down beside me taking hold of my hands.

"They are in hiding right now, until we get this whole mess completely figured out. But you could call them if you would like?" A smile appeared on my face as Niall took out a phone from his pocket dialing the number.

"Hello Niall? Is Chloe okay?" I could hear my father ask worry clear in his voice.

"Dad!" I exclaimed.
