To paraphrase Robbie Burns -
'If only we had the God given power to see ourselves as we are seen by others.'
Would we change? Would we care?
Or would we still be unaware?
Would the revelation rock us to the core?
Would we soar on wings of praise,
wanting status to upraise
or would we crash to earth inevitably, heartsore?
Would we find with this new viewing
unknown traits already queuing
with self image braced and ready to implore?
So if we did receive this gift,
would implementation provide a lift... or
would it cause a psychological, tectonic rift?
One thing we can assume for sure -
the lucky ones would remain just as before.
Let's be among those who can count ourselves lucky.
