27. New Adventure

There again. My life was being controlled by someone else, someone who thinks that they are wiser, have more authority than me. And there again, me sitting alone thinking about everything, even waiting for someone to come and kill me.

No one came, not the slightest noise of the TARDIS's machinery working. Why in the world would I think I could hear the machinery that's only found in the main control room? Well, I guess this just proves that I'm going insane even faster. And to prove that I've become even more insane, I'll say that I can see something always following me. Just in the corner of my eyes.

I felt my feet spring up. My whole body just stood up for no apparent reason. The shadow of the creature still moving in the corner of my eye. Keeping my eyes in front of me was a challenge because the creature kept coming closer and closer until I could feel it's breath on my shoulder. I spun around as fast as I possibly could. The energy was wasted though, nothing was there, and yet I could still feel it's presence.

"What are you doing?!" I yelled at the TARDIS.

"Me? Nothing." She replied in an innocent manner.

"My mind will NOT be tricked so easily." As I spoke the creature stood in front of me. It looked like a Zask, but so much more deformed. The poor creature looked like it hasn't eaten in years. The skin over the ribs was thin and barely covered with fur, making its heart just barely seen.

"You think that's a nightmare?" I asked the TARDIS. I wasn't sure whether it was to provoke her or to entertain myself but what happened next surprised me. A simple 3 beat signal beeped inside my head.

"TARDIS! What are you doing?!" I yelled that the machine.

Yet she still didn't reply. The signal kept beeping inside my head. At this point I didn't exactly know whether or not the TARDIS actually knew it was there, until she finally replied after what seemed like forever.

"Whatever you are doing, stop it." The TARDIS spoke calmly.

"Me? I'm not doing anything. What did you put in my head?" I replied.

"That's not me. What in the Universe is transmitting that?" The TARDIS spoke to herself.

"So this isn't your doing?" I asked her trying to clear up the situation.

There was a little bit of silence before her sarcastic answer. "Of course not. I know exactly where you are. So whatever is sending the signal either wants to find you or kill you... But this isn't right."

"Another death threat. That's what I've been missing." I said while the TARDIS was trying to figure out our situation, or should I say my situation. Nevertheless, it was entertaining.

Not any longer after, she put on an alarm. Everything just happened in mere moments. A sudden flash of light blinded me and I found myself on a cold floor once more.

"Doctor? Do you think it worked?" Spoke a strangely familiar voice. I wanted to open my eyes to confirm my assumption but the flash still lingered in front of my eyes.

"I'm not sure." Spoke the Doctor's voice, but it wasn't exactly his voice. "Oh Starlit." He finally realized I was there.

"Doctor?" I spoke. I slowly tried to open my eyes again.

"No time. We have to move quickly." He answered as a pair of hands lifted me off the ground. I believe it was the Doctor who led me to a different place.

"Where are we?" I asked him.

"We are in a TARDIS." Answered a female voice.

"But I was just in the TARDIS. Why did you bring me into this one?" I questioned.

"Can't you open your eyes." This time I heard a slight British accent as she talked.

"Well. When your TARDIS materialized, there was a blinding flash. I'm waiting for the affects to wear off."

"Do you recognize my voice?"

"Yes. I just can't place a name with it."

"How about Rose?"

That's when my eyes flew open. The instant light pouring in my eyes didn't matter. I looked at the blonde haired girl and a smile crept on my face. "Rose!" I yelled as I pulled her into a hug. "I am so happy to see you."

"Same." She replied.

"Still traveling with the Doctor I see." I said as I turned around to see his 10th generation standing behind me. It took me just a bit to notice there was something different about him. I started coming closer to him. He had the same hair, face, clothes, everything just he didn't seem the same. I stood right in front of him. My hand on his cheek, looking into his eyes, they weren't the same. The memories those old eyes should have kept were not there, they were completely new and different. His eyes weren't even old. I looked back at Rose. She just stood there, as though she was waiting for me to figure something out. That's when I places my hand on the Doctor's chest. There was my answer. He only had one heart.

I looked back up into his eyes. He could tell that I have figured out his mystery.

"Rose..." I paused for a moment, almost scared to ask the question.

"It's a long story Starlit. That's why we are here." She answered the question in my mind.

"But..."

"The signal was us yes. We needed a strong enough connection with this Universe to get to it. The TARDIS is just freshly grown, only its second trip. Can't believe it's power hasn't died."

"Technically it is grown from a piece of the original Doctor's TARDIS and has the link it needs to obtain a life source from this Universe too." The Doctor cleared up Rose's confusion.

"So you two are from a parallel universe." I managed to catch up to what was happening.

"Yes. We are here to show you something important." Rose said.

There was sadness in the Doctor's eyes, Rose's too so without any further delay, the Doctor set the TARDIS in motion to catch up to an impossible time.
