Chapter 17
~Mallory~
I was still lying on my bed in nothing but my undergarments. I’ve been laying here for awhile. I heard Thomas’ showering running again. I blushed. Maybe he was taking a cold shower? I shook my head. Why would he need that? It’s not like I’m pretty or anything. He woudn’t be…truned on…by me. Never. I stared at my ceiling. It was so plain. I held my hand up and started drawing imaginary things on my ceiling. Right when I dropped my arm, my door opened. I shot up and saw Thomas standing in the door open with his mouth hanging open. He was staring at my body.
“Er…ever heard of knocking?” I mumbled, feeling my cheeks heat up. Thomas only shook his head. He was staring at my body, his eyes roaming everywhere. I gulped and slowly stood up. I looked down at what I was wearing. I would be wearing my baby blue lacy underwear set. I squeaked and tried to cover myself up.
“Thomas!” I whined. He took three strides over to me and put his hands on my hips. I stared into his eyes, and he stared back.
“Don’t hide yourself. You’re too beautiful for that.” He whispered. I felt my arms hang look at the side of me. My legs felt like jelly. He is so sweet.
“Thomas.” I said his name again, but this time in a whisper that I could barely hear. I cleared my throat and said his name again.
“Thomas.” It was louder this time and full of courage.
“Hmm?” He hummed out, still staring deep into my eyes. I was starting to get dizzy just staring back.
“I really need to get dressed. I’m cold.”
“I know a way to get you heated up.” He wiggled his arms. I slapped his chest.
“God!” I laughed and then pried my body away from his. Now I was really cold! I shivered and walked around my room looking for a pair of sweats. I found a pair and slipped them on. I looked at Thomas. He was just smiling at me. I smiled back and walked over to him, swaying my hips more than usual. His eyes grew wide and I saw him gulp. I smirked. When I was super close to him, he closed his eyes, waiting for me to kiss him. I grinned and ran out of my room to his. I went into his closet and stole one of his t-shirts. I slipped it on and looked down. It was super baggy. It was a bright blue v-neck. I love this shirt on him. I inhaled his scent and smiled.
“Smell good?”
I looked up and saw Thomas standing next to me with his arms crossed.
“Uh-huh!” I smiled at him. He laughed and pulled me into a hug. He kissed the top of my head.
“You are such a tease…and you look hot in my shirts.” I looked up and grinned at him. He bent down and crashed his lips onto mine, and like every other time he kisses me, sparks erupted my body. I wrapped my arms around his neck and he gripped my hips. I heard him groan. I smiled on his lips. He licked my lips, asking for entrance. I decided to tease him. He bit my lip, which surprised me. I gasped and he took advantage of me. I could tell he was smirking. I pulled back and smiled a little.
Then…it happened.
“I love you.”
I stared at him. He whispered it, so I wasn’t one-hundred percent sure if he really said it. I opened my mouth then closed it again.
“Wh-what?” I stuttered. I could not think straight.
He took a few breaths before meeting my eyes. His eyes looked so gentle and caring. I could just melt right now. Then, with a confidence and a serious face, he said it again.
“Mallory Lynne Holloway…” He said, making me think of when he asked me to be his girlfriend. I felt butterflies building up in my stomach.
“I-I love you.”
I felt tears building up. I sniffed.
“T-Thomas.” I felt a tear start to fall.
“I know I might be saying it to soon, but the summer is almost over. And you’re-you’re going to be going back to school. I’m going to be starting college here. We only have four weeks left together. I want to make it the best time of your life. I don’t want you to forget me. I never want you to forget me.” He grabbed my hands. Now the tears were just streaming down my face. I have no idea why I was crying. Maybe I was just happy.
“Thomas.” I whispered through my tears. He wiped away my tears and smiled warmly at me.
“I-” I stared to say, but the phone rang. We stared at each other a little more before I went and picked up the phone in his room.
“Hello? Gray residence.” I said cheerfully.
“Mallory!” I heard my mom sob on the other end.
“Mom? What’s wrong?”
“I-I-I…” She blew her nose. I waited for her to carry on.
“I’m leaving Ben!” She wailed. I dropped the phone.
“Mallory? Thomas? Hello? Hellooo? Anyone there? Hello?”
I let the phone lay on the floor.
If she’s leaving him, what does this mean for me? Will I be able to stay her until the end of summer, or will I have to get a plane ticket for an earlier flight?
I felt a pit in my stomach grow.
Eff my life.
