-Thomas-
"You…" Mallory whispered. I could see her body shaking. Her eyes flashed with hurt. I stepped towards her, but she stepped back as I stepped forward.
"Mallor-"
"No." She said quietly. "No, no, no." She shook her head. I reached out my hand.
"Get away from me." Tears were streaming down her rosy red cheeks. All I wanted to do was kiss them all away. Kiss away the pain that I could clearly see in her eyes.
"Ooh, hello, sister." Melinda smirked behind me. I turned around and glared at her. She jutted her lip out, pouting.
"Don't say anything, Melinda." I said through gritted teeth.
"How-how could you, Thomas? I was so faithful to you. I…I loved you!" She yelled before hunching over and sobbing. I felt a stab in my heart. Past tense…she loved me. If she loved me, does that mean she doesn't love me anymore.
"You put on a pretty good act." Mallory mumbled. I stared at her in confusion before finally getting that she was talking to Melinda.
"I know. Acting like I don't know Thomas, when really, I know him oh so well." She said, a smirk still plastered to her face. I glared at her.
"Mallory! She's lying! Don't you get it?! She's trying to get us to break-up! She's like your mom. She can't be trusted. Please Mallory. Please believe m-"
"Believe you? How can I believe you when I can see the proof right here? Before my very eyes?" She looked up. Her eyes were swollen, but she was still so beautiful to me. I wish she would just understand that nothing big happened. That what happened didn't count!
"Let me explain!"
"Okay. Explain to me why Melinda is wearing a wig." Mallory stood up and crossed her arms. She was still shaking, but I could tell she was trying to look strong. Trying to hide her weakness.
"She wore that wig when she met me! She told me her name was Nancy!"
"And what were you doing with…'Nancy'?"
"I was--"
"We kissed. It was a wonderful make-out session. He cheated on you…with me." Melinda butted in.
"Only because you spiked my fucking drink!" I yelled at her, throwing my hands up in the air with anger.
"Spiked your drink? Isn't that what they all say, Mal? He really wanted me." Melinda strode over to Mallory.
"Uh, well. I uh…" Mallory fumbled for words as she backed away from Melinda.
"Mallory. Please." I begged. I then felt something wet on my cheek. Was I…crying? I wiped them away and stared into Mallory's eyes, pleading and begging with her to believe me. That I wouldn't do anything like that to her.
-Mallory--
I stared back into his eyes. His eyes were begging me. And he was crying. Thomas was actually crying. Was this all and act, or did he really mean it?
"You know how innocent I am, Mal. Would I ever do anything like that?" Melinda asked me with big, round eyes. I studied her. She was dressed differently than usual. She usually covers herself up, but right now, she wasn't wearing what she was wearing earlier. A deep green shirt with a cardigan over it. Light blue jeans and brown boots. Now she was wearing a little red dress, reveling all of her and high strappy black heals.
This isn't the Melinda I know.
I need some time to think.
"Thomas…" I said with a quite voice that I didn't mean to use. He looked at me hopefully.
"Take me home."
"Okay!" He smiled.
"But…right now, we need a break." I held up my hand and his shoulders slumped. He simply nodded and grabbed the car keys out of his pocket.
"Good-bye dears! Call me Mal!" Melinda smiled sweetly at me. I glared at her and turned on me heel, heading for the car.
When we were both in, it was an awkward silence.
"Mallo-"
"Shut up and drive." I snapped.
"Like the song?"
"You're not funny." I dead-panned and he nodded his head sadly and started the car. When we stopped in front of my house, I quickly unbuckled and started to open the door and get out when he grabbed my hand. I turned around to glare at him, but he wasn't looking at me. He was looking down ,his hair falling, covering up his face.
"I'm not lying." He whispered before letting me free. I stared at him for a little. I almost gave in, but then slammed the door and walked up to my room.
I collapsed on my bed. Fighting back tears that wanted to roll down my face. I relaxed. I am not going to cry again. My phone buzzed. I picked it up and saw it was a text from Melinda.
"It was hot and steamy. We started to strip down to nothing…we almost went all the way… ;) Sweet Dreams!"
I glared at my phone. There was a heart at the end of the text.
She thinks she can tear me down?
'Tonight she can though,' I thought as the tears started to overflow. I face planted into my pillow, and sobbed my broken heart out.
