Chapter 19

~Mallory~

“Mallory! Hurry up! Your flight is in an hour!” I heard my mom yell. I sniffed. It’s been a week since Thomas and I did…the deed. He was sitting on my bed with a frown on his face. He watched me as I stuffed the last pair of socks into my third suit case.

“Thomas.” I mumbled as the tears started to fall. Again.

“Sh. It’s going to be okay. I’ll come see you during breaks, I promise!” He pulled me into his chest and I sobbed into it. I heard him sniff. I looked up and saw tear streaks down his face.

“Aw, don’t cry.” I smiled slightly.

“Hypocrite.” He chuckled. I giggled.

“We’ll call each other every day, right?” I asked. He looked at me with eyes that held so much love. I’ve never had anyone look at me with so much love. I hope that I can stare the same way at Thomas.

“God, Mal, you’re beautiful.” He murmured before he crashed his lips down onto mine. I responded imminently.

I heard my mom clear her throat in the doorway. I pulled away, biting my lip. I rolled my eyes as I asked, “What, mom?”

“What do you think you’re doing? He’s the enemy!”

“Excuse me?! No. You’re the enemy. This is all your freaking fault. Ben is so in love with you. Let me guess, you found someone in Hawaii?” I spat.

She scoffed. “What? Pfft. No. What makes you think that?” She laughed nervously.

“Wow…slut.” I muttered under my breath as I picked up my bag.

“Here, babe. Let me.” Thomas smiled at me and took all my bags.

“Aw, so tough.” I pinched his cheek and he smirked at me.

My mom gagged and went down the stairs.

“You would know.” Thomas said and set the bags back down on the floor and lowered his face to my neck. I giggled when he started kissing it.

“Stop it! No! Stop!” I giggled. Thomas brought his face up and leaned his forehead on mine. I stared into his eyes.

“I’m going to miss you so much.” He whispered.

“God, I’m going to miss you too.” I whispered back and looked at his lips, his nose, his eyes. Taking him all in. Memorizing him.

“You’ll wait for me, right?” He asked, putting his hands on my hips.

“Of course. If you’ll wait for me.” I murmured, looking down at my hands. He leaned forward, closing all the space we had between us, and kissed me. I kissed back. I put my hands under his chest and felt his abs, his chest. He moaned under my touch. I smiled in the kiss. He placed his hands on my belly under my shirt and…

“Mallory!!” My mom yelled. I pulled away and groaned. Why?

“We should get you going.” Thomas said sadly.

“I guess so.” I agreed with the same sad voice. He grabbed my bags and we slowly made it down the stairs. Ben was standing at the door. I could tell my mom was already in the cab. Ben smiled at me.

“Oh, Ben.” I whispered and ran into his arms.

“Mallory, it isn’t your fault. Don’t worry about me. I’ll be fine.” He rubbed my back. Again, tears spilled.

“Take care, sweet heart.” He smiled at me. He nodded at Thomas and winked before walking into the kitchen. I turned to Thomas.

“This is it.” I sighed. Thomas simply nodded.

“I-I-I-“ I started sobbing uncontrollably.

“Shh. Shush. Mallory. Don’t-“ He said, but his voice cracked.

“I love you.” I blurted out. I looked up and saw that Thomas had a look of shock. I had finally said it.

“I love you Thomas. I love you.” I said it over and over, not knowing if this would be the only and last time I would be able to say it.

“I love you too, Mal.” He smiled. He kissed me. Soft, and sweet. He pulled away and opened his mouth to say something, but my mom came in and dragged me to the car. I started crying. My mom kept telling me to shut up and to suck it up.

“Grow up. There’s plenty fish in the sea.” She said as she parked.

“They’ve all been with you.”

She gasped and smacked me. My cheek throbbed.

“Bitch.” He muttered.

“Thank god you’re going to Hawaii. Hope you have a good life.” I muttered and snatched my ticket from her. I hopped out of the car and grabbed all my things and headed over to where my flight would be taking off in half an hour. I sat down and wiped my eyes. I sniffed. A couple of people looked at me and an older lady came up to me to make sure I was okay. I sat there until it was time to go.

On the plane, I slept most of the time. When we landed, I cried again. The man next to me looked at me like I was crazy.

“Sorry, something in my eye.” I muttered and dried them. He nodded and got out of his seat as quickly as he could. I waited until I was the last one. I slowly walked off the plane, stiff and sore. I saw my dad and Kacey. Kacey hugged me tight. I had called her and told her the whole story.

“Honey.” She kissed the top of my head.

“Hey Kace. Dad.”  I smiled as my dad hugged me.

“Hey there, Mal.” He said. “Glad you’re home.”

“Yeah, I guess I am too.”

Kacey looked at me and I looked down at my feet.

“Let’s go get you’re bags.” My dad said. Kacey grabbed my hand and squeezed it. I gave her a small smile.

This, is the end of summer for me.

This is NOT the last chapter....but the next one might be. SAD! :(

But I'm excited to end my first book :)

There will be no sequel. There will just be an ending. But don't worry, it won't be a cliff hanger.
