Okay....you're going to hate me cause this chapter is short.
But you're going to love me because I have decided that this is NOT the end! :)

Chapter 20
--One month later…
~Mallory~
The bell rang. I grabbed all my stuff and slowly walked to my car.
“Hey Mallory! Where are you going?” I heard my friend, Kent yell. I turned around.
“Home.”
“Why don’t you hang out with us anymore?” Kent pointed over his shoulder. I peered over him and saw my other friends, Rachel, Megan and Joey. They all smiled and waved at me. I forced a smile and managed to wave back.
“I dunno.” I mumbled.
“What’s wrong? We were so close last year.” Kent took a step closer. I closed my eyes and remembered last year. Kent and I had a thing. We almost dated, but I told him that I wasn’t going to be here all summer so he said that when I come back. When I opened them, Kent’s face was really close. I stepped back.
“What? What did I do to make you act like this?” Kent asked. He looked sad and desperate.
“I’m sorry, Kent. But, but there’s someone else.”
“What? You promised!” He looked pissed now.
“I didn’t promise. ‘Maybe’ doesn’t mean the same thing as promise.”
“Mal…”
“I’m sorry. I didn’t think it was going to happen.” I slumped my shoulders.
“Who is it?”
“You don’t know him.”
“Who. Is. It?” He asked with his teeth clenched.
“Ugh. Do we have to talk about this now? I need to go home. I got a phone call to make.” I looked at the time on my phone. He’s going to be calling me in half an hour.
“Oh lemme guess, it’s him, isn’t it?”
“Kent. I need to go. I’ll call you later, kay?”
“After you talk to him.” He glared at me before stomping off to the others. I stared at them for a bit. Then Megan walked over to me.
“What did you say to piss Kent off?” She smirked.
“Uh, well you see…” I told her the story of my summer quickly. She smiled the whole time. When I was done, she jumped and squealed.
“Ohmygosh Mallory! I’m SO happy for you!”
I giggled. “Thanks, girl.” I looked at my phone. Fifteen minutes.
“Crap! I gotta go! Call me!” I hugged her and ran to my car. I hopped in and drove home.
As I walked in the door, the phone started ringing. I smiled. I dropped my stuff on the floor. I grabbed the phone from the cradle and sprinted up the stairs to my room.
“Hello?” I answered.
“Hey, babe.” I heard his voice. I felt my heart speed up.
“Thomas! I miss you.” I pouted even though I knew he couldn’t see me.
He laughed. “Are you pouting?” I could imagine his smile.
“No…” I trailed off.
“All, don’t pout. Although, you do look pretty cute when you pout.”
“Haha. Thanks.”
“So, how was you’re day?”
We talked for two hours before I could hear his dad in the back round telling him to do his homework. Thomas and I set a skype date and said our good-byes. I hung up and sighed. Gosh how I miss this guy.
There was a knock on my door.
“Yes?”
Kacey walked in with all my stuff.
“Oh, thanks! Sorry I left them on the floor…again.” I got up and took my bag from her. I threw it on my bed and sat down on my computer chair.
“Hm, did someone get a certain call?”
“Maybe.” I drew out and smirked at her. She smiled and shook her head.
“Ah, young love.” She said before walking out and shutting the door behind her.
I was working on an essay when I got a skype call from someone.
I rolled my eyes and answered it.
“Hey!” He smiled.
“What’s up, Kent?” I asked, still focused on my essay.
“Well, you didn’t call me…so…” He smirked.
“Okay. So?” I rubbed my temple.
“Well I wanted to talk about us.”
Just then, my cell phone rang. I looked at the caller ID, and smiled.
“Hold on!” I told Kent and answered my phone.
“Hey!” I grinned.
“Hey, Mal, just called to say good night.” Thomas said on the other end.
“Aw. Good night, babe. I love you.” I smiled.
“Love you too. Miss you.”
“Miss you more.” I gushed.
He laughed and then we said good night one more…well maybe three more times before we finally hung up.
“God, I love him.” I said to myself. I got back to writing my essay. I put on a love song and hummed along.
“So that was him?” I jumped at the voice.
Crap, I totally forgot that I was on skype with Kent.
“Kent!” I choked out.
“Yeah. I’m here. Seems like you forgot me.”
“How could I ever forget you, Kent?”
“You forgot me this summer.”
And with that, he hung up on me. I stared at the computer.
Shit.
