I feel... Empty.

It feels like I have nothing. Nothing.

I knew it. I freaking knew it. This stupid bet was a mistake. It was a terrible idea. I should just give up. All of it. I can't stand another minute avoiding my friends and--

My thoughts were cut off when I saw the one person I didn't want to see.

"What's with the frown, Mr C?" he asked with a snicker. The smile that makes me want to get a tree branch and shove it up his ass. (MWHAHA)

"Leave me alone" He said surprisingly calm, trying not to yell.
"But-"

"Leave me alone!" He said this time louder with anger into it. Conner left throwing his arms in to the air with his stupid smile. Caleb needed to go to someone, and he knew straight away who.

"I don't know what to do anymore" He told Kaitlyn the whole story.

"Just go for it" He was shocked at her reply.

"I just told you-"

"Just tell her how you feel, she'll forget all about Conner" He sighed and rolled his eyes, hoping she didn't see.

"Fine, I'll give it... Wait, how do you know, that," He paused and Kaitlyn smiled at him.

"It's pretty obvious that you like her Caleb" She said while pushing him, making him smile a little. It was a relief that finally someone knows, but he still doesn't feel quite comfortable.

"No I don't" He said without hesitation, a little embarrassed.

"Yeah, that's what you say. Anyway, just go for it. Don't let Conner get in your way. Who cares what other people think. I think, tomorrow you're gonna do it" Caleb thought about it just a little bit before answering.

"Okay... Then I will"

Jasmine sat with Gale at lunch. It's been a long time since she last talked to him.

"I missed you" She said.

"I missed you too" He replied. They stopped talking for a few seconds.

"So... How's life?" He asked. Jasmine let out a small laugh.

"I don't know... I've been thinking a lot about-" She stopped talking when she saw someone walk towards her in the corner of her eye. She turns to see it's Caleb. Before she could say something, she saw him with a worried face, making her feel really bad.

"Jasmine, could I talk to you?" He looked over at Gale.

"Alone?"

For some reason, she was feeling a little nervous. When Gale left the table, he sat next to her.

"Is there something wrong?" She asked him. But as soon as she asked, he put a smile on his face making her smile in relief.

"It's nothing, but I just need to tell you something, I've been wanting to tell you for a long time actually, but it'll probably mean nothing to you, I'm just going to go straight up," He said looking in her eyes, then sighed. But she didn't say anything and waited to what it was. She was curious.

"I... Like you" He said really softly, but his voice was a bit shaky. It made Jasmine jump a little and her eyes flickered. She was shocked, but wasn't surprised. She knew he had a little thing for her. Not only she was shocked about that, but she was shocked at her own reaction.

"I- Um...Well" Is all that came out of her mouth.

After talking to Kaitlyn about it, it was time he just went straight up. He finally, finally, told her how he feels. But her reaction wasn't as exciting.

"I mean, I just need to let it out. You know. But... Uh. I was wondering," He looked up to her after staring at the ground for a few seconds.

"I mean, we don't have to but... Do you maybe wanna go on a date or something?" He tried to say confidently. He waited for a response. He was really nervous, really nervous. He wanted to just leave in embarrassment but he can't let Conner win. Then he finally got a response.

"I- I... I can't" She put her hands over her face. This made Caleb look back at the ground with his frown closing his eyes in disappointment.

"It's not that I don't like you or anything, but it's just I'm not ready. I've never had experience with any of these things and you have, with Kayla or some girl-" She was talking really fast, but he kept trying, but tried not to push.

"5 years" He disrupted her. By the look on her face, she was really confused.

"W-What do you mean?" She stammered.

"5 years... I've had a crush on you for 5 years" He couldn't believe he was saying it. And by the looks of it, she couldn't either, and he saw her jaw drop a little. It was a long 5 seconds, but the most life changing.

"Caleb... Are you serious?" For some reason he just got a hug from her.

*           *           *

She doesn't know why, but he went in to hug Caleb. It just made her so sad, that it's been 5 years, not noticing a guy who has strong feelings for her, 5 years, of breaking that guys heart. She thought about it, and maybe she should give him a chance. It doesn't matter, whether she's a tomboy or not, whether she never planned on having a boyfriend, whether she wanted any attention or not.

She started realizing how long the hug went on for, breaking it off,  which was supposed to be awkward, but wasn't. She needed to give Caleb a chance. She took a deep breath, then put a smile on her face.

"So when do you want this date?" She said, looking at him. And the expression on his face was almost unreadable, looking like mixed emotions, but a little of shock.

*         *          *

He couldn't believe it. It felt like forever to actually go on a date with Jasmine. It was like a dream coming true. He told her all the details for the date. Once she left, all he did was smile.
