Chapter 16

Just before Jasmine was going to tell her friends about her relationship, Conner wanted to talk to her.

"Why did you want me?" She asked.

"It's about Caleb" He said, and Jasmine sighed.

"Alright"

"He's not actually dating you" This made Jasmine roll her eyes.

"And how would I know you're telling the truth?" She asked in fury.

"Look, Jasmine. It was all a game." This made her anger into confusion.

"What do you mean, it was all a game?" She asked.

"It was a bet between Caleb and I. To see who wins. And obviously, Caleb won, but I thought I would tell you just in case it breaks someones heart before knowing it was all a bet."

This time, it put Jasmine's confusion into sadness.

That was the conversation she won't stop thinking about. It was all a game. Nothing else. For the last few nights, she had been crying herself to sleep. Avoiding school by lying to her parents she was sick. And yet, hasn't told anyone. But it was time that she should.

The next day, she lied to her parents saying that she was better, and got dropped off in front of the school. She was trying to look confident, holding her head up high, like she was fine with everything that happened. But in the inside, she was nervous. Scared if the whole school knew about it. Worried if everyone was going to bully her about it. She just had to go up to Gale... No... Kaitlyn... She didn't know who to tell.

She thought about it, but when the whole Caleb thing started, it was Kaitlyn who she trusted more, even though Gale was her best friend.

Jasmine told Kaitlyn the whole story, tears forming her tears. Kaitlyn said nothing. Jasmine wanted to see her face expression, but she didn't want anyone seeing her cry. She was expecting an answer but she went off.

"Where are you going!?" She yelled but she still ran off. This made Jasmine really confused, but she still sat there wiping tears off her face.

As soon as Caleb was going to throw his rubbish away, he saw Kaitlyn running towards Conner. She looked really angry, and he could just hear what they were saying.

"What the hell Conner!?" She yelled at him.

"Is there something wrong?" He said, acting like he doesn't know what's happened.

"Something wrong? You just broke a girls heart. That's whats wrong!" She yelled.

"Oh that... Right. Well, I had to tell her the truth, and besides, Caleb doesn't really 'like' her anyway" He said, being so 'cool' about it.

"What if he did?" She said, lowering her voice a little.

"Pfft. Seriously. Who would date a girl like her?" He laughed.

"I would"

Caleb had to step in. His best friend, just betrayed him. Betrayed him. He didn't care anymore if the whole school knew. He just wants that one thing that he always wanted.

"Caleb?" He said, sounding really surprised. Caleb looked over to Kaitlyn who was just looking at Conner angrily.

"You actually 'like' that little... What that thing is" Caleb was furious. He could feel the anger.

"Her name is Jasmine" Kaitlyn busted out. Caleb didn't want Kaitlyn in the argument, so he nodded and tilted his head to tell her that she should go.

"Conner, I suggest you leave Jasmine alone.. Leave me alone, as well as Kaitlyn" He said calmly, not wanting to yell.

"Fine. But I don't want to see any of your faces again" He said, then left. He just lost his best friend. And Jasmine.

"Look. Jasmine. Just give him another chance. Whatever Conner said was not true, and you know that" Kaitlyn was trying to convince Jasmine to get back with Caleb.

"No. He said it was a game. Wasn't it?" She said softly. And Kaitlyn shook her head.

"Yes, it was a game. But, he actually had feelings for you. He actually did like you for 5 years" The reply made Jasmine sigh.

"Fine. I'll think about it"
