(This chapter does not have (Y/N) in it, and only mentions her briefly, this is not a super important chapter, but it does include some very good information you may miss out on later. You can skip this chapter and not miss anything super huge, but it's still worth reading)

Kyle's POV

Half the class period went on, still no sign of Kenny and (Y/N). What could they possibly be doing?

"Kyle." Stan snapped.

I snapped back into reality.  "What?"

"Are you okay?"

"Oh... Yeah I'm fine."

Stan looked over to my drawing. He laughed. "That's pretty good, better than mine." We both laugh. "Whatever." I reply. He messed with my hair playfully, and went back to doing his work. I started to blush madly, and shake with excitement. "Kyle! Why are you blushing?" Bradley Biggs yelled. Stan turned his attention towards Bradley. Oh god...

"I'm not blushing, it's cold in here." I lied. "Why else do you think I'm shaking?" Bradley just stare at me, and smiled. He went back to doing his drawings. Stan kind of laughed. "That was weird." He said. Oh no... He thinks it's weird... Maybe I shouldn't feel this way. "Yeah." I agreed.

After a couple minutes of more drawing, Mr. Ruskin called for the class to listen up. "Alright class, your assignment for today is due today. Make sure you have the following or else you will get points taken off: Name, Date, Class period, at least 3 Shades of Color, and your Title. You have five minutes until the bell rings."  He also mentioned something about a show or something that we might participate in or something, but I wasn't really listening.

I checked off everything I had, and was good to go. Right before the bell rang, I turn my paper with Stan, and leave the room.

~time skip~

I sat in my chair in the band room. First chair is the best feeling in the world. Of Course Jenny Simons hates me for it because she thinks she's better than me, even though she can't sight read for shit. My personal opinion: she should be last chair. The only reason why she's second chair is because she challenged every person every week until she got the chair. I wish there was a rule about challenging other people... Like you can only challenge a person twice every month. It would make things so much better.

Everybody was individually practicing their music. I searched the room, and guess who I found? Kenny! He'd never miss band! He was the best musician in this classroom. Everyday when he gets free time, he plays his instrument, well instruments. I aspire to be a musician like Kenny.

Stan walked over to me, and shook my hand. I looked at him in confusion. "You ready?" He winked. I give him a blank stare. He put his hand on my shoulder. "You'll do great." What was he talking about? That's when I looked over to Jenny. She gave me an evil glare. "Good luck, Kyle. Just kidding. Even luck won't help you once I'm through with you." Oh fuck. Haha, I forgot she's trying to challenge me.

"Oh, I forgot about that. What are we playing again?"

Jenny slammed a piece of music on the stand we shared. I just stared at it. "Jenny..." I firmly said to her. "I've never gotten this piece before."

She just smiled. "I know."

Stan laughed. "Jenny, you know he can sight read better than you having a piece for three months to prepare for. I hope you know this isn't a safe game. On your part of course."

Jenny just rolled her eyes as Stan went back to his section.

I chuckled. "Hey, Jenny."

"What?" She said with attitude.
