*Melanie's POV*
Today is the day I go off to college, and I will say that I'm excited. I've been excited ever since I got my acceptance letter in the mail a few months back.
My parents and I are very close, along with my older brother, Daniel. So they're kind of making a big deal about me leaving.
Daniel has already been through a few years of college. We were born about five or six years apart, it's kind of in between. Since he's the older sibling of us two, he feels the need to protect me, and sometimes even make decisions for me. My first year of high school was great until homecoming. Daniel had to meet the boy taking me, even though my parents knew him already, so that kind of scared my date off.
So in other words, I'm a little happy to leave these people and start fresh.
My mom sobbed as I gave everyone a hug and said goodbye, but my dad just smiled and patted me on the back. He's strong, and he's the one I look up to. I've never seen him cry, at least I don't think I have.

As I arrived at the college, butterflies swarmed in my stomach. I would share a dorm room with someone, so I was excited to meet them.I pulled my key out of my purse, and carried my stuff up the stairs because the elevator was under repair, heading for room 104.
My hand balled into a fist and knocked on the door. Even though I had a key, I didn't want to scare my roommate half to death. There wasn't an answer, so I knocked one last time, and the door slowly opened to reveal a tall male figure.
He was gorgeous. His hair was brown and all messed up, because he looked like he just woke up. There was a small hook hanging on his lip, and a small visible tattoo could be seen peeking trough the sleeve of his shirt.
"Go ahead, take it all in," The boy smirked, making me snap out of my stare. My eyes met with his gorgeous blue eyes, and I just about melted.
"Is this room 104?" I asked, confused. It was hard to pay attention when this hunk was staring at me like he was a lion and I was a steak.
"Yeah," He paused. "Wait, you're my new roommate, aren't you?" The smirk on his lips grew.
"Yes, I believe I am," A small sigh escaped my mouth.
All of a sudden, he carefully took my luggage and carried it in the room, surprising me. I followed him into the dorm and closed the door.
He put my bags in a nice room with a full sized bed, a dresser, a bookshelf, a closet, and a desk that had a mini fridge right next to it. The room looked untouched, which suited me.
"The room has never been used this year, don't worry.. Mines right next door," My roommate winked.
"Thank you," I smiled, making him bite his lip and look over a little.
"I'm Jace Parker, nice to meet you," Jace smiled and reached his hand out for me to shake.
"I'm Melanie Adamski," I slowly shook his hand, but before I could fully get a grip on it, Jace's hand squeezed mine and pulled me close to his chest, and I froze. He smelled like my favorite cologne, and it was already driving me crazy.
I pulled away from my thoughts and Jace, making him leave the room. How weird.
Jace hasn't came back in my room, so I unpacked my bags, making sure everything was organized and easy to get to. Then I looked over my schedule to figure out when and where my classes were. Luckily, there all were pretty close.
