Late January

Karlie walked into Taylor's apartment. They both had keys to each others apartments. Security no longer batted an eye when Karlie walked past them. When the model opened the front door she heard Taylor delicately playing a song on the piano in the other room. It sounded heavenly. When she got closer she could hear the singer humming to herself, probably a melody she hadn't fully written yet. Taylor played a few chords and then pulled her hands away, humming again before retying her hand at the piano. She got a little further this time before hitting a note that didn't sound quite right. Karlie could see her girlfriend visibly tense up at the sound of a wrong key. Taylor tried again, completely unaware of her viewer. She hummed a little louder this time, closing her eyes trying to play it out in her head, fingers hovering over the keys as she did it. She started to hum the tune again, this time her fingers pressing down on keys. She messed up quicker than the last time. She pulled her hands away like the piano was a hot pan and clenched her fists. Karlie walked over to her clearly stressed girlfriend. The model put her hands on the singer's shoulders. Taylor jumped at the sudden, unpredicted, contact. She turned quickly to see who it was but relaxed when she realized it who it was.

"You look tense," Karlie said gently massaging the blonde's neck.

Taylor looked back at the piano, roughly striking a C key on the piano.

"I can't figure out this melody in my head," Taylor replied with a mix of frustration, bitterness, and shame.

Karlie kissed the top of her girlfriend's head. "You'll figure it out."

"What if I don't?" Taylor asked, worriment in her voice.

"Awww baby," Karlie said wrapping her arms around Taylor from behind, resting her head on the singer's shoulder. "You always figure it out."

Taylor let out a sigh, clearly not convinced.

Karlie joined the singer on the piano bench.

"You want to talk about it?" Karlie asked nonchalantly as she played a few random keys. She didn't want to press if Taylor didn't want to talk.

"I've just been trying to write a lot lately and nothing is working out. Like I get pieces of it and when I used to just get into a song and be able to write it pretty fast but now... its like a road block half way through."

Karlie wraps an arm around the blonde and Taylor leans her head on the model's shoulder.

"Maybe take a break or something. Clear your mind."

"I don't know. I feel like I should at least have a sound for the next record and I have nothing. I'm like in limbo."

"Like I said, maybe take a break. Let the inspiration come to you."

"Yeah I guess... I'm going to take a nap. I couldn't sleep last night."

"Bad dream?" Karlie questioned.

"Thinking about this," Taylor answered.

Karlie rubbed up and down Taylor's arm soothingly. "This will be here after your nap. Go get some sleep my love."

Taylor nodded and gave Karlie a kiss on the cheek before walking to the bedroom.

Karlie was left staring at the piano. She needed to get Taylor out of this funk. She needed to spice things up. Karlie took out her phone and sent a text to Gigi.
