19- She Who Holds His Heart

It has been three days since I seen Jay. He hasn't called to tell me he made it or made it back. All I know is some girl named Kels called and he ran to her rescue. And I do mean at that very moment. He quickly dropped me off to Mally and i's apartment with out even a simple bye.

I spent most of the day's wishing he would call.

Aside from that, Mally wants to take Kayden to the park. So that was the plan for today.

"You ready ma?" Mally asked walking into my room.

I nodded. "Yea, can you slide these boots on my feet?"

He nodded and grabbed them from me. He placed Kayden down and bent down to put the boots on.

"Nane your feet look like balloons." She giggled.

I laughed a little and pulled her to me. "I know Nanu."

"Why are yo feet so swoll?" Mally asked massaging my foot.

"I'm pregnant Nono."

"Boppy always ask silly questions." She giggled.

He gave a smirk and slipped my boot on my right foot. Than he moved to the left one. Also massaging it.
After putting on my shoe we were on our way. My mom decided she didn't want to go. So it was just me, Mally, and Kayden.

As we watched Kayden play on the swing, we sat back on the picnic table.
"So you still ain't heard from that nigga?" I shook my head.

"No, I was wondering if I should call." I mumbled.

Mally sucked his teeth in response.

"Hell nah. Let that fuck nigga do him." It was crazy how much anger and jealously I could hear in that one little comment. I haven't told Mally about the kissing. This time around I just couldn't. I just never seen him like this. Not with Any of the guys I've talked to. It think it's because he didn't see potential in them. But jay..... I think he actually knows can be something permanent.

"I just hope everything is ok." I mumbled.

Mally went silent for a second and the he stood up, walking over to Kayden. I watched him run up to her and she jumped out of the swing. He swiftly picked her up in his arms and kissed her cheek.

I loved Mally for being the person he is and loving us unconditionally. However, I just don't think that we belong together in that sense. I don't think he can handle having a family, where none of the kids are his. Even though he would still treat them as his own.

I sat back watching them with a smile on my face until my phone began to ring.

I pulled it out of my purse and sure enough it was a Jay. A smile play on my lips for a second before it turned into a frown. I procrastinated to answer, but I knew I was pregnant with this man's kid and he would probably worry if I didn't.

"Hello." I answered.

"Hey ma."

"Oh, hey Jay." I mentally slapped myself for that. Trying to pretend I didn't know who I was speaking to.

"Where you at?"

"I'm at the park with Mally and Kayden."

"Oh ok, what park is that? I want you to meet somebody."

"Legion Park."

"Ight. We'a be there in 20."

"Ok." Without even a goodbye he hung up.

I wonder if it's this Kels girl he wants me to meet....

About 20 minutes later Jay came walking up with a girl and a little boy holding her hand.

Oh yeah. This is definitely her.
I stood to my feet and so did Malano with Kayden on his hip.

Jay walked up with a big smile. Once he reached us he pulled me into a hug. It was so tight and so warm. He held me for a minute and it seemed as if he really cared..... Like he really loved me. Hence he never told me he loved me back.

After a few more seconds he let me go and looked down at me.

"You good? The baby good?" I nodded.

"Mhm, yea." I smiled.

"Good."

He stepped back toward the girl and sort of pushed her forward.

"This Kelsey, Kelsey this my baby mama Kai." Kelsey gave me a smile and stuck her hand out for me to shake. I smiled back and gave a quick shake.

Kelsey was a nice brown skin tone. She was very beautiful. Looked exactly like Jay's type.

"Nice to meet you."

"You too."

I turned to Mally who had put Kayden down next to him. Where she clung onto his leg.

"This is my best friend Malano and my little sister Kayden." She shook Mally's hand.

"How are you?"

"I'm good how you?"

"Good." She smiled. Then she turned to look at Kayden. "Hello beautiful." She beamed.

"Hi." Kayden gave a shy wave.

"This is my son Emmanuel. I just call him Manny." I waved at him.

"Hello Manny."

"Hi miss." He smiled. Revealing that his first tooth had fallen out.

"Aww well aren't you cute." I smiled back.

After the greeting we just all sort of stood there, awkwardly silent.

"Well I guess the kids can go play while we talk." I suggested.

"Yea, that sounds like a good idea." Kelsey agreed.

The kids heard that and they immediately ran off. We walked over to the picnic table and took a seat. Jay started the conversation.

"Kels is a childhood friend of mine."

"Oh." I nodded. "So you're from New York?" She nodded.

"Yea."

"Do you like it?"

She shrugged. "It's home. Have you ever been?"

I shook my head "No, I haven't been out of Miami. Between my sister battling cancer and school I never had time."

She placed her hand on her chest and a look of pity appeared on her face.
"I'm so sorry to hear that. You can't even tell." She sort of whispered the last part.

"It's fine. She's doing a lot better."

"That's good." She glanced over at the kids who were having a field day together. I think Kayden likes him.

"They are just having so much fun." I nodded. "Maybe Kayden and manny can play all the time now that we live here."

"Oh so this is permanent?"

"Mhm." She looked at me. "I'm staying with Jay." She's staying with Jay?........

Short ik but I promised yall a chapter this weekend. And I'm working tomorrow so o can't do it. Enjoy and I'll update as soon as I can.
