4 years later

"Leilani Cole! Get your narrow behind in here right now!" I yell out to my busy child. Today is her fourth birthday and we have done everything we possibly could to make sure she has a great one.

"Mommy. Me was playing with TT Kayden and my wittle brother." She informs me as she comes running into my room.

"Okay, well now it's time for you to get dressed. A lot of people are waiting to see you today." I state as I pull her tiny stature up into my arms.

"Ba Ba says that the only persons that matter today is me." She says with a smile. Although that's true, Jay has really put a lot of effort into today.

So, despite how it sounds Jay and I aren't together. Nor do we have another child together.

"Mommy Kai, where is my son's shoes?" Mally asks as he walks into the room. I turn to see that he is holding my baby. Once his presence is acknowledged he walks over to me and places a kiss on my temple. Afterwards handing me Karter.

"Hi, mommy's baby." I coo as I kiss his soft cheek.

He looks just like Mally with my smile. Everything else is is Malano, from the eyes to the long feet. Yes, Mally and I have a child and we are together. Currently engaged actually. Karter on the other hand is an oops(an unplanned) baby. Which Mally had no problem nicknaming him that. He literally calls my baby "Oops". And I literally have no problem popping him in the mouth when he says it.

Karter coos at the love I am showering him with as Mally scoops Lei into his arms.

"How's Ba Ba big girl doing? You ready for that car I brought you?" I instantly roll my eyes at him. For some reason he keeps telling her that she's old enough to drive and that he brought her a brand new car which is of course a big lie. But hey, if she's this happy about it I won't be the one to kill the dream.

"Yea!" She shouts while wrapping her tiny arms around his neck. "Me gonna go vrooom." If she wasn't in a dress, you'd think she was a little boy. In fact for her birthday she wanted an Egyptian themed party where she was king Tut... Ask me how she knows about that? Well, Aside from my usual major, I completely dropped out of school after having her for some time, and went back a few years back to become a historian... Boring and unexpected... I know. Anyway, my last project involved, the study of Egyptian life back in the day and the way I chose to raise all of my kids is to involve them in everything I do. Once I got the job at the museum, they were the first to get a tour and meet the staff. So, when the Egyptian project spiked my attention, I knew they would love it and I told them every bit of information I found out about it.

Lei loved hearing about King Tut and she loved his "shiny goldie face", aka the the gold mask he was buried with. She wanted to have a face just like that. Even after I told her about the Egyptian women of power. 

So we gave her an Egyptian themed party, with her own personal gold mask... Extra, I know but, Jay insisted. He is also the one paying for the extraness.

"That's my girl." He mumbles while kissing her cheek.

"She needs to act like one." I mumble as I lightly run my fingers through Karter's soft curls.

I am very happy with the decision I have made with my life. Although I hadn't realized it at the time. Malano is the love of my life. The only man who has ever deserved me and I can truly say that and mean it. I love him. I loved Jay too. I just loved him enough to let him go. It just wasn't meant for us this time around. Although we connected on a whole other level our spirit weren't meant to combine in this lifetime and I'm completely content with that. Especially, since I know he's happy and so am I.

Soon the sound of the doorbell knocks us all out of our private moment.

"Nane, I got it!" I hear Kayden shout from the other room.

Kayden fortunely beat cancer and it hasn't returned since. Things got really bad at one point and we lost hope for my nanu but, that soon passed and she got better. Then eventually it went away altogether.

Malano and I both make our way out into the living room with the kids in tow. Once we do, we are met by Jay and his assistant Drea.

"Hey, Jay." I say with a smile and he returns. Jay, has been keeping a low profile with dating and what not after me. Which I completely understand. He wants to focus on Lei and his career.

"Hey!" He greets and then turns his attention to Lei. Who Mally has now set down so she can greet her dad.

"Daddy!" Lei shouts while running to Jay and he shows an equal amount of enthusiasm.

"Baby girl!" He shouts back as she runs into his arms. I enjoy watching their relationship. He loves her to death and it reminds me of my father. He loved us just this much. I'm glad Jay isn't like him in everyway because my dad was fucking crazy but, he loved us with an equal amount of crazy as well.

"Daddy me misded you." She says with a smile as she kisses his lips.

"I missed you more."

"How much more?" She askes while placing her hands on his cheeks.

"To the moon and back, to the ocean floor and back. From my heart to yours."

"Do you mean it?" She asks while narrowing her eyes at him.

"More than anything, love."

This is what it's like, the baby everything was based around at one point is now surrounded by so much love. Even though I was scared my mistake would hinder her, it didn't. It made me strong enough to take care of her. It made her father strong enough to love her. It made us all come together, in a really weird way...
