“You can’t fight.” Eli warned, reading me like a book. Pamela stared at me with discouragement; neither of them accepted my choice.
“I do what I want.” I snapped back at him, barring my canines in his direction.
“You have life inside you! You’ll get both of you killed! Sorin wouldn’t want this!” He shouted at me. My head was too thick at the moment though and nothing anyone said could change my mind.
“The baby wants this, too. No matter what, I’m fighting. You either join me or back off.” Then, I leapt out of the safety of the under growth into the open where wolves from both sides fought to the death. A chocolate brown wolf burst next to me, his warm eyes locked with mine and nodded. Eli had my back. I glanced back to find Pamela leading Memy back to the house where the both of them would be safe. “Let’s go kill some ass!”

I won’t let any harm come to my child or my pack. I will protect both and if that becomes too much to handle Eli will be here to back me up. I ran after a small wolf that was not on our side by the way it snapped its teeth menacingly in my direction. It stared at me with a look of confusion and I knew it sensed my pregnancy. Either way, I lunged for its throat thirsty to spill some unwanted blood. Faster than me, it dodged my attempt and went to bite my back before I could turn to re-attack. Luckily for me, Eli caught on to its foolish attempt and bit down on the small wolf’s tail swinging its body into a nearby tree. We heard a snap from the force and the wolf slumped to the ground, lifeless. I thanked Eli before running after another victim.
It went on like this for another thirty minutes. The fight was starting to calm down and it was obvious that in an hour or so our pack would rise as the victors. I spotted a cream-like fur mixed with bits of brown flowing through the battles on the field. Curious, I watched it carefully with a glare. When it turned and allowed me the chance to look into its eyes I knew who it was. Anger boiled in my veins as I took after the similar sized wolf. Eli followed reluctantly, unwilling to leave me unprotected.
Noticing I had followed it, the light shaded beast turned to face me with a nasty snarl and saliva streamed from its mouth. It was Melanie. I growled at her, remembering that she is my biggest enemy. I wouldn’t let her get away this easy. My wolf form pounced on her, crashing her body into the ground. She quickly leapt back to her feet and watched me with hawk eyes. I swiped my claws at her face, missing her by an inch. She retaliated and almost had her paws on my neck, but I jumped back in time.
We circled around one another, daring the other to strike first. Tempted, Melanie lunged for my throat. Once again, I jumped away from her grasp and was able to clamp my own jaws around her front leg, digging my canines deep into her flesh. I let her blood leak from my mouth before I released it and encircled her body again. She whimpered, limping from the pain, yet continued to fight. She caught my leg and I stumbled to the dirt. Pouncing on me, Melanie pinned my body to the ground. I struggled under her weight. Her mouth opened ready to rip my throat out, to kill me just as my father was killed long ago. I shut my eyes to ready myself, but the blow never came and her weight was gone.
I got up and noticed Eli crushing her body against a tree. I ran to him and ordered him to stand down. I will be the one to finish this devil’s life. I readied myself to bite down on her under belly. Melanie growled and pushed me aside, running back into the battle. I chased after her. She wasn’t getting away at my say. My body froze as the next scene happened in complete slow motion.
