“Thank you, Memy. You brought me strength. Now I know what I must do. I must be strong. If it weren’t for you I would have stayed here crying all day. I love you.” She squeezed me back.

“The war is almost to an end. We can make a feast to celebrate.” Memy sniffled. “And we can remember all those who fought for what they felt was right, forever.”

“Great idea. I’ll gather some women from upstairs and we’ll cook the best food anyone has tasted.” I pet Memy’s head adoringly as a huge smile covered her face.

“Let’s get going then!” She giggled, pulling me away by the arm. I turned and looked back at Crystal to find it was smiling and my heart skipped a beat at the sight before I was pulled into the hall.

Thank you, Mom and Dad, thank you.

We had won. My efforts and the courageous efforts of our wonderful pack have rose to be victorious among the uncertainty. Sorin had chased away the remaining rogues and Alpha Bane scurried off with his tail between his legs. It was nice to know we’d never have to worry about his pack bothering us ever again. My heart still feels fluttery and unsettled knowing that Melanie was still free to roam the world. What if she decides to return for a second taste of revenge? With a miracle on its way, her existence is enough to make me worried.

The pack sent the wounded to the werewolf medics, which were mostly women, except for the one male with the sharp blue eyes. The rest of the returned warriors came home to a gigantic welcoming feast. Once we cleared out the bodies from the ground, everyone helped set up an endless amount of picnic tables. Since our pack was around three hundred plus werewolves, we gave first priority to the elders, mothers with infants, and the slightly wounded. The strong women and men proudly stood chatting around holding their plates in their palms having a blast.

Scanning the thickening crowd, I could easily pinpoint those who had obviously lost someone dear to them. Their expressions were torn, even if they tried their hardest not to let it show through, they each had an aura of sadness surrounding them. My heart leapt out to those heart-broken fellows and I wish I could comfort each and every one of them. I sighed, glancing down at the untouched food on my plate and felt my appetite gradually subside.

I placed the plate aside and turned to walk into the pack house for some alone time… or a well-deserved nap. Instead, a pair of large smooth hands wrapped around my waist and pulled me into their chest gently. Their warm breath blew on my neck causing an involuntary shiver to run through me. “Where do you think you’re going, beautiful?” His lips moved against my skin as he kissed my neck. I craned my neck, allowing him more access, letting the electric waves excite me.

“I must be good. I already got you aroused and I was just getting started.” The love of my life chuckled deeply. I turned in his arms, resting my hands against his rock hard chest before raising my eyes to meet his charming gaze.

“How I’ve missed your touch. By the way…” I trailed off.

“Yes?” He cooed in my ear waiting patiently for me to continue.

“We still have the matter of naming our unborn child.” Sorin gave me a knowing smile.
