Recap:

I pulled away from him breaking the unbelievable kiss. “ I- I have to go.” I breathed, still trying to catch my breath. Sorin ran his thumb across my cheek tenderly. I placed my hand on top of his.

“I’ll walk you home.” He stated and I couldn’t help the relief that ran through me for having Sorin for a couple more minutes. He quickly touched his lips to mine, and then interlaced his hand with mine as we walked to my house, my head on his shoulder blushing like a love-crazed fool.

“Layla.” Sorin gently took my hand into his rubbing smooth circles into my skin. I gazed into his mesmerizing dark eyes.

“Yes?” I say.

“I need you.” He whispered onto my lips. My heart rate picked up speed. Why was he telling me this? I’m not going anywhere. I love him.

“I need you too.” I whispered back. Sorin shook his head. I stopped breathing for a moment. Wait, so he doesn’t need me?

We need you.” He clarified. “You can save us.” Confusion washed over me.

“Who are ‘we’?” I asked. Suddenly, the sky drew darkness all around me. I shivered in the ominous breeze that rode a chill up my spine. Sorin’s eyes turned golden, glowing through the darkness trying too give out light, but the evil black mass swallowed him up and I was left alone. Sorin? Where did he go? Who needs me?

“We don’t need you, Layla. Leave.” A voice growled. A shadow was moving slowly toward me, eyes a bright flaming gold, same as the color that previously occupied Sorin’s eyes. Yet, this color doesn’t bring light nor does it bring comfort, it was malicious. I took a step away from the figure stalking closer to me, but I tripped and crumbled to the ground. “I want you gone.”

It was Loki. He was now towering over me with a hungry grin. I tried to crawl away, failing to move fast enough Loki grabbed my legs, sharp claws stabbing into my skin and pulled me back to him, the rocky ground scraping the skin off my back. Tears rolled down my face. Blood was staining my shirt, making a pool where I lay on the ground. “Please don’t hurt me!” I screamed, trying to catch the attention of any possible bystanders, but it came out as a whimper instead. Loki let out a dark, foreboding laugh at my useless attempts at avoiding my death.

“You’ve been a bad girl for neglecting my warnings. I promise it’ll be quick. You won’t feel a thing.” Loki said, his voice cold as it struck my heart. I was going to die. This will be the end. I won’t ever see Sorin ever again. A loud, vicious growl erupted from Loki’s throat and he suddenly grew a mouth full of razor sharp teeth. He lunged at my throat and I let my mind float up to the skies.
