That face I saw, dejected and alone;
Raw emotion seeping through
As the world seemed to freeze in the corridor pass.
No anger or bitter resentment
Clawing out from either side
Of the opposites crossing in the corridor pass.
Once a unit, now a divide,
One difference that blackened the peace,
Seen to all who observed in the corridor pass.
Silent smile and silent stare.
Words aren't enough, nothing can explain
The expressions exchanged in the corridor pass.
The little white flag, innocently waved,
Ignored or invisible when tied to a ship
Thrown away from the current in the corridor pass.
There's nothing to do now but hope some and wait,
Feeling the good cruelly fade from my eyes,
As the world carried on after the corridor pass.
