Poems of my Mind

My deepest thanks

To you

Who gives me life.

A part of me,

Like my ever-beating heart -

Thumping a crescendo

Of mortal bliss.

Or my mind of metal -

Malleable

Only with your embrace

Rising up in waves

through the confines of my skull.

You are my translator,

My companion,

My endless Spotify playlist.

My angel in a cave -

Reborn when the door is opened.

Heavenly gospels surround you.

You dispel boredom

When snacks are low

And videos are buffering.

You turn ordinary occasions

Into delusions of grandeur

And glorified Disney films.

In castles at night

You break free.

And the air is empty

Without you to melody

The percussion of my footsteps.

A complex instrument;

I tinkered and toyed

With you to fix the settings

Just right.

Only I know which buttons to press.

A box that can never be stolen.

A phone that can never be lost.

Priceless, worthless

To some, but unique

To me, and my future

Depends on you sticking around.

Through you

I connect to

Everything.

Anything.

Everything.

My most sacred art,

Dont leave me alone

If you have a choice.

You are my heart;

You are my home;

You are my voice.

My deepest thanks,

To you

Who gives me life.

My deepest thanks.
