Silence
Except for the hush of rain outside,
And the rumble of tire on tarmac.
The sky weeps for the lost time; for the many memories.
It weeps like I weep,
The silent release of emotion over my set expression.
No show. No tell.
Hidden like a shadow by the window of caught tears,
Inside and out.
Happiest outside than in.
The rhythm of the wind blows wave after wave,
Seen like starlights caught in its wake.
The shake of my soul follows,
Swirling like the amber-caught droplets,
And fills with them through the impenetrable glass.
Heavy with their sorrow.
The further I travel,
The heavier I become.
I know I am leaving.
Back to my rain-free cage.
To wait for the next happiness,
To wait for the rain to end.
